finally could not hold myself back. Got the AP ROO chrono with black plastic strap running asian 28,800 with black bezel and black face. I'll post picts when I get home in a moment.

The choice was between:

1. Pam Arktos GMT - perfect in everyway. no qc issues
2. Pam sub 2500 - Rotating bezel slightly mis-aligned and spotty finish
3. Pam sub 1000 - Bezel loose as a hooker so gave it a miss
4. Pam pro diver - left handed version, really lovely in eveyway
5. Breit Navi timer GMT - same color as my Bentley so left it.

I left the office in such a hurry I forgot to bring my camera phone home. :(

Have to photo shoot them tomorrow.

could not wait, so here they are:

Impressions
-------------

Wear - compared to the pam, its not all that comfortable, but I'm geting used to it. Just seems so wide but looks good on the wrist

Clasp / strap - excellent quality and clicks in nicely. Very easy to deploy, maybe too easy but time will tell. Clasp is in the form of a AP logo. Lovely

Dial - I used a magnifier to look at the dials, pretty ok except I find the AP logo a bit faint and kind of unfinished. (only when u magnify it. If u look at it without, it looks good). Secs at 9 o'clock

Lum - Kind of crap, much worse than the Pams. The chrono sec hand, and 3 dials do not have any lum.

Bezel - nice plastic finish with a small nick at 6 o'clock. Bit of a bugger but it will do I guess.

Casing - The steel casing is very nice and sturdy with little bits of polished steel. Real nice looker.

Chrono button - covered in plastic caps, the winder button is hex but boardering round so can be a bit vague when using.

P.S. I spoke with the boss of the rep supplier and he said the earliest we can expect the dials at 12" is maybe June 08 but dun count this as accurate becoz Josh and friends maybe able to get it earlier. Just nice to know that they have this planned.

Thanks for the pics and impressions. By the way, it might be helpful to know what your wrist size is. Then people can have an even better sense of what this watch might look like on their own wrists.

nice!! What's it running? I really wanted a SS one but decided to get the plastic strap becoz I already have a number of SS watches. Lovely and I'm still wondering whether to pickup the SS too. :p

I like it a lot : the black one has really the "Hublot touch"... Well, it's surely the opposite, the Big Bang is probably inspired by the A.P.

The watch is a true beauty. Wish my arm would be a little bigger for that humongous (sp?) watch. I <3 it.

I agree :)
Quartz is a good way to have very affordable (and often good) reps.

thx guys!! I'm wearing it day and night, can't seem to get it off my wrist. :p

I did look at the quartz as I was hunting for alternative dealers at the mall and some of them really have a lovely finish. The casing is not as thick. They have these auto ones that have non functioning chrono for a good price, but quartz would be much better becoz atleast everything works.

As mentioned above, I'm not sure of my wrist size, but I'm guessing abt 6 inches, pretty small. But the rest of my build is 175lbs so my arms dun look small.

Anybody who is shying away becoz of the size, don't, becoz its a lovely piece and will look good on many ppl even with small wrists.

Hi Digi,

Sorry for late answer...my pictured "AP RO OS JUMBO" is running "Automatic Asian 7750" It is a stunning watch with same out of the box wow factor. I could not believe Q-factor. Once I polished it up it got silky smooth. I purchased with a big price Hublot. Both fight for wrist time.

I think, when you are ready you should pull trigger on SS - you wont be sorry. You cant have enough SS.

Hi Matt,

I find the AP ROO really nice, but to be honest initially I did not like them much. Like all lovely designs, it kind of grew on me and now I think its one of the most beautiful watches in my collection. So lovely.

I will get a SS version when they come out with secs at 12. I'm planning to get an Arktos GMT tomorrow, but will hv to check to see whether its the latest version first.

Show us more pics of your lovely SS. :D
