finally could not hold myself back. Got the AP ROO chrono with black plastic strap running asian 28,800 with black bezel and black face. I'll post picts when I get home in a moment.
The choice was between:
1. Pam Arktos GMT - perfect in everyway. no qc issues
2. Pam sub 2500 - Rotating bezel slightly mis-aligned and spotty finish
3. Pam sub 1000 - Bezel loose as a hooker so gave it a miss
4. Pam pro diver - left handed version, really lovely in eveyway
5. Breit Navi timer GMT - same color as my Bentley so left it.
I left the office in such a hurry I forgot to bring my camera phone home.
Have to photo shoot them tomorrow.
could not wait, so here they are:
Impressions
-------------
Wear - compared to the pam, its not all that comfortable, but I'm geting used to it. Just seems so wide but looks good on the wrist
Clasp / strap - excellent quality and clicks in nicely. Very easy to deploy, maybe too easy but time will tell. Clasp is in the form of a AP logo. Lovely
Dial - I used a magnifier to look at the dials, pretty ok except I find the AP logo a bit faint and kind of unfinished. (only when u magnify it. If u look at it without, it looks good). Secs at 9 o'clock
Lum - Kind of crap, much worse than the Pams. The chrono sec hand, and 3 dials do not have any lum.
Bezel - nice plastic finish with a small nick at 6 o'clock. Bit of a bugger but it will do I guess.
Casing - The steel casing is very nice and sturdy with little bits of polished steel. Real nice looker.
Chrono button - covered in plastic caps, the winder button is hex but boardering round so can be a bit vague when using.
P.S. I spoke with the boss of the rep supplier and he said the earliest we can expect the dials at 12" is maybe June 08 but dun count this as accurate becoz Josh and friends maybe able to get it earlier. Just nice to know that they have this planned.
