Hi,

I have been searching for an adequate Royal O. for more that one year now.
Unfortunately, I have ordered from an internet supplier that is not listed here in the forum. And unfortunately, I found the forum just some days after the money was transferred. Now, I got the watch: cheap 5-10$ model with bad manufactured wristband and battery clockwork. I paid alltogether (inclusive customs duty) about 100 €.
There was an automatic model in super quality shown. Not comparable with the item I got.

I don't know if I am allowed to post the fraudulent internet address of this seller.
If I am allowed, please tell me and I will publish the contact details.

Other question:
Does anybody know a dealer who has standard AP RO models with steel wristband (not rubber and also not offshore models)?

It should be within the same price dimension. A or AA is enough for me. I don't need AAA or AAAA quality.

You can contact me via private message or here in the thread.

Thank you in advance:)

I

Actually, as I recall, you did post the address of that scam site when you first arrived on the scene. We're so scam site skittish, it almost got you banned, to be honest. But I'm glad that we opted to give you the second chance. :)

But my feeling is that you have gone about this in exactly the right way, which is to publicly enquire what would be the best way to publish your experience, without throwing up the scam site name for all of us to wonder what you're up to.

My feeling on this is that there is no doubt that you are not shilling for this site. Or if you are, you're doing a really lousy job of it. :)

Go ahead and post the site name. Just make it obvious on the post that you are recommending AGAINST use of this site. Thanks for the alert.

Oh, and that rating system of A-AAAA is a bunch of nonsense. Don't worry about the number of A's. The members here can tell you what you are really supposed to look for in a quality rep.

You should really insist on AAA++, 1:1, using a gen as an example, with genuine Swiss movement, all Swiss made. That's the only way to be sure that you're getting an excellent watch!
(I said this in another post not too long ago and had a guy PM me to ask which seller had these!! )

I'm not an AP expert, but if you're just talking about an AP Royal Oak Offshore, then any of our approved dealers can get it. It's a very popular watch. Use the search function and search for "APROO" and you'll find tons of threads with reviews, pics, problems, etc.

Good Luck!!

For anyone who is really new or doesn't speak English as a first language, THAT WAS SARCASM.

I just didn't want to field the posts of those who got confused. :)

Thank you for the fast answers. I will edit my first post and point out the fraudulent page. But I will give them a further chance (money back). Nevertheless I think that there is little chance to minimize the loss.

Of Course, I am aware that there is no rep that is 1:1.
or can you deliver me one out of 18k whitegold for 1000,- :)
I will take it :)

I have got some experiences with reps: 3rlx, 1bvlgari and 1rado - all with automatic movements (excluded rado) and very good quality etc.
In former times in had more (lange, bretiling), but I swapped or sold them.

Now, my focus is on classik models like daydate, milgauss or royalouk. Watches without too much specials.

Timesshop I have visited. There are some that fit to my desires.

I have just visited watcheseden.

the models there are more than 2 times as expensive than the watches at timesshop while they are obviously the same ones.

Is it service? Is it quality or is it security?
Experiences from you?

The ones on WE are (supposedly swiss) eta movement. The one on Timeshop is an asian 21J movement.

LevelMan- you crack me up!! I remeber getting a few such replies when I was very new to this forum. I'd spend hours wondering what was meant but after doing lots of reading and searching and asking more questions on this site I now know a bit more about this process.

And that OP is really the secret to your success in this field. Use the recommended dealers, ask questions- either start your own thread or query someone elses post on their thread. Send PM's and enjoy.
One of my favourite sayings is: "Its better to ask dumb questions than make stupid mistakes".
Good luck and enjoy the hobby/ addiction.
cheers

Be careful about the linked models.
Some are bigger than the standard 36mm version. (39, sometimes 42)
Actually not a big difference, but it might count depending on your wrist.
I prefer the closed caseback version, as the movement (even if Swiss) is a real tell.
For a simple display (hour, minutes, seconds) an Asian 21J is more than enough, knowing that most Swiss ETA you get are refurbished, or ETA clones.

The Timesshops version is the same case as I have. Looks awesome with an AR coating.
I'm not sure of the movement he has, probably an ETA clone looking at the price. Ask him, he will answer you quickly... Quicker than Sarah...
The weak point on these is the clasp. Pops up easily, but can be also easily fixed.

These watches have no AR coating out of the box, so I would avoid the black model unless you want to have an aftermarket coating done (which is long these days). The silver dial looks good IMO :D

There's no such grade as A or AAA, this is an invention. How to grade illegal goods ? Except the dealer himself ?

Today the unbelievable became true: "Good news from China"

Money was transferred back to my account.
After 6 weeks, A LOT OF pressure from my side, a cheap battery model and paypal intervention the money appeared on my account.

Now I will try my best with timesshop and the AP 36mm model in black or champaigne dial.

36mm sounds tiny to me :D.

Just take your time, pick your dealer, spam them up and then if you are still happy, order ;D. Please update us often :D
