very amazing replica.

you just need to have the life style to pull it off.

if i were you, LoS - i just would swap the bands and give him back the rep......see what he says.

Listen ladies and gentleman... the rep AP ROO used in these photo's is being sold to ME, so simply back away from the PM button and quite bothering LOS about when its going to be available. ITS NOT...

There are three things that I think could be done to make it near perfect, and I will try to do them.

First, the case back needs to be made thinner. I recall when I had one of these open once before that there was PLENTY of clearance between the rotor and the caseback. If that in fact is the case, then the case back should be able to be milled thinner from the inside. This will mean that the screws will all need to be shortened a very little bit also... but thats not an issue.

And secondly, it needs to be relumed. If someone can pull off putting the correct color surround around the lume, then it should be a dead ringer.

And lastly, a different date wheel. Im not sure what would work, but there has to be something out there.

Thank you, this has been a public service announcement from someone who really dont care what you think about what I just said!

Beautiful watch... I can't believe how expensive these are!

Yes they are pricey... but its one of those watches that the factory ACTUALLY put some effort in to. They built the case the exact same way (assembly) as the gen, and they had to build a custom movement.
So the cost is at least partially warranted.
Not like some watches that have an off the shelf eta movement and no real reason to warrant a $350 price tag.

That is... That is a freshly re-lumed SDDS V3. I think the lume was still wet when she showed up. I HAD to throw it together and get it on her bewbies... It was a good day!

I just wanted to give a little update on the mods necessary to make the rep a little closer to the gen.
Last night I spent about 4 hours thinning the case back on the exact watch in the pictures (YES I bought it from LOS).
Although it was a time consuming operation, it was not difficult at all. Very slow grinding, very slow filing, very slow sanding and some high speed polishing and each side is equally thin and match the gen on the inside surface. There was nothing that could be done about the outside section.
NOTHING had to be done to the screws/tubes because there was plenty of thread available in the tubes to accomodate being closer to the case by about .6mm.
I will get some pics up later.

Are the bezel screws on the gen a little larger than the reps?

Nice rep! Good buy CBR! :)

They may be a very very very little bit larger. If someone calls that out, they are getting way to close to my wrist and I may need to hurt them.
I just finished the case back, and am having it lumed. Then I want to see if I can get LOS to do another photo shoot.

Wondering why LoS decided to sell his AP so soon after he compared the GEN to Rep side by side?

I know they look very similar in pictures, But is there a big difference in fit and finish between the Rep and GEN in person?

Well.... CBR had a genuine ladies datejust for sale that my wife wanted and he took the ROO on trade.... I can replace the ROO at anytime but had to jump on the Datejust...

There really are SO FEW and very small differences that I would feel comfortable wearing this watch in the company of those who might have a gen.

Good to know! That was my main concern as some of the guys I hang out with DO have some very nice Gen watches and i'm sure they've seen the Gen in person.

LoS: How is the finish of the Lume on the Gen? Is the lume in the numerals glossy or flat in finish.
(Wondering cuz i'll be getting it relumed once I get it)

do your chronos work?? cos thats a give away on alot of APs

i know the reps are very good.... i had a watch dealer friend of mine tell me my Roo was a fake jokingly. i immediately took it off and handed it to him (i guess when its a gen u dont hesitate )and the first thing he did was check the chrono function.... obviously it worked and after a few seconds shamefully apologised and said that he didnt expect a girl to shell out $16k+ on a mens model.
cheeky git.

It would be interesting to compare to the new version from Kingwatch, which seems to have sorted some of the rep issues. But has it created others??
