AP ROO DIVER V7 - Blatant giveaway its a rep... Suggestions

Hi guys!

So... I sold my AP ROO DIVER V7... Suddenly had withdrawal symptoms... missed it and reordered another one!

This version I got which is JF V7 is great! Great alignment, great dial, great crown... almost perfect except for the date font! I took a browse at V5 and that font seems very close to gen. With basic research I've done on AP ROO DIVERS and handled gens at a local AD, I can tell the V7 is a rep just by the date font! Here the question: Is it possible to replace the date part of the movement with one that's closer to gen? Or any other advice?

Get the noob diver datewheel. It is more accurate vs gen than the jf one.

I held my V7 diver with a GEN 15703 diver and overall it was great, wouldn't say the date was 1:1 but it was close as per what I saw. If you went to the AD chances are you compared it with the newer 15710 that has a different date font

AP changed to the Panerai type Helvetica font in 2014 so I serial solid case back ROOD's will have this font as well as the newer display back versions!

Interestingly that's the first thing I noticed. Did AP ROO DIVERS change the fonts? The 15703 I saw at Al Manara (UAE) definitely had a font closer to the 15710

OOOOOOhhhhhh Now that I wasn't aware of. OK, just to confirm you are saying the pre - 2014 would have used the font seen in V7? Do you have a link or reference to this?

I'm out just now so can't answer this properly but Puretime has a post on his site showing each individual date number on a gen movement with the new style date font.

The 4 is like this I've just typed. No flat top. And 1's are like Apple iOS8 until they bloody well changed it with iOS 9. 1's look the same as Panerai.

Interesting... so OK, if you go to AP's own website and type in 15703ST you find the other font. I'm trying to find out which year had the font is on mine and yours and what its full reference would be.

As far as I know the current reference 15703 is correct. They went from closed CB to open within the same reference. But I could be wrong!
