So, have been debating picking up my first quality rep.

I think I want it to be an AP Diver. REALLY wanted a QEII but it looks like those are just very poor quality reps at the moment.

So that leaves me a few similar options.

1. AP Diver Ceramic - http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=910

I couldn't find a V7 though, only V5. Do they make a V7 Diver with the ceramic bezel? I really like the black accent...

2. AP Diver Black/Rose - http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=923

I love the black/rose combo and it's at least somewhat similar to QEII but I couldn't find any version number...anyone know the quality of this rep or if it's available as a V7?

Cheers!

SS AP Diver V7 from JF is about as good as you get out of the box. Relatively cheap too.

Best version to buy is the Noob. Dial details are closer, datewheel is correct, AR is spot on, caseback finish is much better. Overall more correct but currently sold out.

there isn't really a bad choice, they are all nice reps. I love my diver (v6). plenty to read about here on each one of them. there are flaws in each of them and it comes down to preference.

V5.1 or V7 are both considered the best in SS but overall they are all so good You could pick any. I´m also not into the tiniest details with A/r or open caseback so I´d take the rg one if not the SS Diver. Solidly made, high quality feel on details like when setting time or winding - these are great reps.

I believe the V7 has really good AR so you should be good with that version.

JF makes a silent update with their Diver V7 (they do it with all their models)

I received 2 weeks ago my second V7, it's a little bit different and more accurate than the previous one I owned (more accurate than any Noob versions).

- The dial is absolutely glossy now, no need to get the Noob dial;
- The DW is well centered now, of course the font is slightly thicker than the gen one (even gen updates the date font on the newest Diver). But nobody here cares about that ;)
- The AR is wonderful, it' single side as the Gen (not 2xAR like what I read somewhere). I test it by myself.
- The case, bezel, screws, brushing, mirror polishing are 1000 miles better than Noob.

Only things I would take from the Noob Diver are the plots for a better fitting of my Gen rubber strap. But I f you keep the the rep strap on it, you don't need that mod.

I will post a video soon of my 'new' V7 soon...

As promised, here are 2 videos of my recent JF Diver V7

Take note that the watch is better in person and more flashy ;)

Wow that V7 looks great! I might just pick one of those up instead...seems flashy enough without needing gold accents. Is there a way to get a V7 with a display caseback? Not sure if the vendors would be willing to do that or if I had to mod myself.

Thank you titisoni for showing the improvements on the V7 diver! The only thing that kept me away from buying (and waiting for a newer version or update was the crooked datewheel). Now I am gonna buy this and match it either with a SMP hornback (if it is truely amazing) or buy a jacob's hornback strap

Get the stainless JF v7. Every aspect of construction and finishing is superior to noob, and you'll love it right out of the box.

It was a joy to disassemble, the bezel screws are perfectly sunken, polish is immaculate on every surface, and the internal construction is superb and it maintains the high level of craftsmanship visible externally, unlike noob watches which always seem to have poor internal quality in addition to perfunctory external polishing. Even the dial is fairly close to gen in most lighting situations. The lume is magnificent, the bezel mechanism clicks cleanly, and the bezel font is closest to gen of any rep SS diver.

I used the latest JF v7 for my franken, got it from Ryan at intime:
