My one-off, No-date, flat crystal DeepSea Challenge AKA "NDFCDSC"

So, for those that missed the sale and opportunity, I swooped on this good deal here from a member that bought a DSC with the rehaut engraving upside-down. I had a few options, but in the end decided on doing the following to it.



-fitted a smaller flat crystal
-filled date window making it a "no date" dial
-platinum mod on bezel insert
-sanded and painted inner ring to match bezel insert
-repainted dial a satin black w/matte clear
-removed all signs of Rolex(crown, diver ext. and clasp)
-greased all seals
-relumed with Noctilumina B17F-W(c3)

Nice, very nice. That's a watch I would wear should I one day parachute down at midnight into unknown territory. Definitely a 'sterile' watch if they caught me. Now maybe, [just my two cents here] a good sandblasting of the whole watch and bracelet would complete the picture. Fantastic work there, I should say! Very, very unique!

Unless I saw that on a wrist while suiting up or amidst a dive, I would think it's awful, literally. I'm just being honest. I would want the same if the situation were reversed. The execution is there & It looks like a full-on dive instrument. If that's what you were going for, it's a home run. :sharkey: :bounce:

Thanks for the honesty, and I know exactly what you mean. This watch isn't my kinda thing either, but I bought and modded for a friend that wanted it. For what it is, I think it turned out OK, just way to big. Although I had one before on a 6mm thick black strap and it actually looked nice. The sissy bracelet this thing comes on just doesn't work for the size of the head.

any way you can tell me what crystal was used. I would love to have a flat crystal in mine..
