i agree with you entirely. you come here for constructive and informative answers not sarcastic replies. i wish you luck in your search and less replies from pseudo "MODERATOR" types who post these replies to noob types like us. they usually are nothing types in real life.

Let's try this again. This sort of question is very common and the resulting comment typically suggests for the OP to check with the trusted dealers. What was very atypical about the question is that it came from someone that has been a member here for three years. If my adding "You have been a member here three years!" before suggesting you should check with the trusted dealers has offended you, then you have my sincere apology. After rereading the post it does sound unnecessarily sarcastic. I tend to tease a lot and that it doesn't translate perfectly to text.

As it turns out, there was more to the story and perhaps I can actually help without just making things worse. You went on to say:

Thats strange because the dealers i e-mailed doesnt have it in stock...
thats why i asked here.
But no luck yet.

You will find that the majority of the trusted dealers don't actually have a great deal of watches in stock. The only one I have ordered from that already had the watch in his possession was WBK. The majority of the others take your order, collect their fee, then go source the watch that you want. I have ordered from Timeshop and ReplicaMake and they operate this way (and I can recommend both of them). I'm sure many others do as well. Have no fear though, because the watch you desire is very common and several of the trusted dealers will likely be able to get it. Just don't worry about whether it is in stock. I truly hope that helps.

Now, here is where this thread turned awesome. Hollow-Point jumps in with this:

i agree with you entirely. you come here for constructive and informative answers not sarcastic replies. i wish you luck in your search and less replies from pseudo "MODERATOR" types who post these replies to noob types like us.

He should have stopped there. I didn't really understand the part about the "MODERATOR" because I could never be confused with them. However, the rest of that kind of made me feel bad. Maybe I really need to be more careful what I post? By joking around, am I really just hurting peoples feelings? Can Hollow-Point be an example to us all in our communication with each other? But then, he totally flips the script and finishes with:

they usually are nothing types in real life.

:picard::picard2: Just curious, how would you define a "nothing type"? Thanks!

I'm damn proud to be a Moderator type. Who are you saying is a nothing type in real life?

The OP typed a prey basic question. Yes. He has been a member for a lot longer than most members to ask this question. Agree?

Wow! A 3-year member with 2 posts asks one of the most basic of Noob questions and gets a standard (and VALID) response - along with the observation that he is asking such a basic Noob question after 3 years of membership, and then a 1-month member with 11 posts goes on to condemn the quality of member responses to questions here on the forum.
Granted, I haven't been here all that long or participated much, but I've always felt that the vast majority of question responses here are extremely thoughtful and helpful. INCLUDING the answer of "most any of the trusted dealers can get it for you" - which is a valid and truthful answer.
I guess my seniority here has put rose-colored glasses over my eyes, and I thank hollow-point for pointing out what an arogant A** Five was being with his condescending response. How DARE Five not seek out and obtain the watch for the OP at his own expense, clean, lube, regulate and QC the watch, and then ship it to the OP at a significant discount JUST to make sure his purchase experience was both satisfying and effortless.
Five should be banned immediately. Or caned... and then banned!

Or hollow could stop being a prick by seeing pricks where pricks do not exist.

The weirdest thing of all, here, is that the OP has two posts... both of them on this thread, and still, seems to have been a member since 2008!
Possibly he lurked around at the time he joined, and then dropped out altogether... Just comes back for questions... but still is a bit out of shape and needs some practice.

Then comes the remark of hollow-point. That would have been pertinent on many boards... but not here, to the best of my knowledge. I haven't been here a long time, but what makes me come more and more to RWI instead of the other watches/reps boards at which I've been a member for much longer is that friendly nice general atmosphere, with a hint of sarcasm here and there, but always in a comradely way!!!

I'm a noob here, and for the life of me can't understand why hp even commented since he had no dog in this race to begin with.

Maybe I am a bit surprised at his attitude because I have been a member of other interweb hobby boards since the mid 90's and figured out/learned proper "netiquette" long ago....

I must say though that the OP should not have been surprised by the initial response he received if he has been lurking on this site for the last three years. JMHO

OP, get ahold of Fakemaster. He does a great job and does builds fo this watch to order. You will have to wait about a month or so, but it's worth it, and well priced.

I got the blue wave SMP from ReplicaMake & have been very happy with it. Great looking watch and it runs very well.

For some odd reason I pictured the Vintage Seamaster 300 when I first read your post.

The first thing I noticed that while the OP may have joined 3 years ago, a total of only 2 posts since then would indicate he hasn't been around here much. I'm new myself so my opinion probably doesn't account for much but Lay at ReplicaMake is a very good dealer in my opinion. Before, during and after the sale. I suggest giving him a try. I wish you luck in your search.

I feel touchy would be to say something like "try the search function"

This thread needs to get back on track. Who has the best SMP?
