hi I want to get a u boat replica watch but I`m not really sure using an online service for my shopping since I have no idea in what condition I will receive the watch, thats if I even receive anything at all. does anyone know any local dealer in Los angeles, hollywood area that I can basically walk in and buy the watch with cash?

thanks

before you even go down that road you need to read everything you can find on this site - or you will almost certainly be scammed. Also search about Santee Alley. I'm not sure why you would risk getting ripped off - but if you want to buy in LA check the Alley (although most of what you will find there will be total junk).

Hello and welcome. I would find it quite unhealthy for anyone to make such a suggestion on this or any other forum. Quite frankly, as someone who IS in SoCal, I would not know of anyone who is currently selling replica watches locally. There used to be two that I knew of and had done business with. But guess what happened to them? They were shut down and faced some very difficult legal challenges.
There are plenty of safe and trusted dealers right here on this forum that will go out of their way to make any purchase pleasant. Also know that the US Customs office in LA seems to be moving quite nicely recently.
I ordered a watch three weeks ago on a Saturday from China, it arrived at my house on Wednesday in San Diego.
Take your time, determine EXACTLY what version of the U Boat you would like. Then read the reviews and see what dealers it has been bought from. Then place your order (with a trusted dealer) and wait for it to arrive. THEN take pics, write a review and let us all know how it turned out for you.
AND, I will be putting together another SoCal G2G in the next few weeks (probably looking at Mid September) and you are more than welcome to attend. We always have alot of fun, and MANY people bring watches along to trade/sell.

PS: Ive been to Santee Alley with someone who "knew the area"... It was a COMPLETE and TOTAL waste of time and money to drive up there. ALL that was available were junk watches. I mean that! They made even the $88 watches that some of our trusted dealers look like HIGH END MODDED WATCHES.
Most of what was available were not even replica's of real models. I saw more fantasy watches on that afternoon than I though existed.

hi again. this is the one I want to purchase. currently it goes for around 370 bucks on replica sites.

http://video.yahoo.com/watch/3686178/10148491

the real deal is over $2500 bucks. you can understand my concern that $375 bucks is a lot of money to burn on a scam. would you have any suggestion as which website to use for purchasing this watch?

Check out the link in my signature for some contact details and more info. Also, you may want to consider someone like WBK, who is US-based. Ask him if he's got what you're looking for. But in any case, if you go with any of the recommended guys here, you're in good hands.

That's a pretty easy one to find. I think pretty much any of our trusted dealers can get you a good one.
It's not my taste (I bought 1 UBoat and gave it away - it was too ugly to sell in good conscience!! ), but get what you like.
Does anyone want to mention A7750?

hi, I spent over 10 hours going through these forums and preferred dealers websites. I came into conclusion that I might pull the trigger on this watch from watcheden

http://www.watcheden.com/u-boat-flightd ... 4-p-1.html

what do you guys think about this seller and this specific model. the exact same replica is available at roughly 100 bucks with quartz movement. this one has asia 7750 movement. I dont even know what that means but for 250 price difference it better be something good.

should I go along with this model and this dealer?

thank you very much

For your first one, go with quartz. The 7750 is an auto movement (no battery) and depending who you talk to - some feel it is trouble prone.

Of course, if you go with quartz, it will be obvious that it is not the real deal, since the real one uses an automatic movement like the 7750, which are by the way extremely reliable. If it's accuracy you are looking for than it is the automatic and not the quartz.

you're call.

thanks man! the reason I wanted 7750 is that the chrono movement seemed gnarly. (the way it resets instantenously. usually the watches I have reset the chrono on the slow side) does it have anything to do with watch being quarts vs 7750 or does it have its own mechanical thing. back in the day I have seen older watches without batteries that would stop working even if you had them on and moving around. I assumed the situation would have been fixed by now.

All chronos should reset quickly. The bigger issue is if they no longer reset to 12:00.
Any movement can quit running. But most today are quite reliable.
