I think rather than a scamming incident, its more like a service failure incident.

I would agree with this and point out that these are the terms I should have used instead of the four letter s-word.

The OP can't take a ticket because the OP didn't buy off the site. When this conversation started the poster had 5 post. Again not trying to bash but I see it on this site all the time. Mostly with Dealers. Where they buy from them, then comment here when things go wrong they expect the Mod/admin to get involved. I wish the best for the OP and will have to disagree with you Shiro. TC is a parts vendor last time I check. His page is called TC PARTS. They have that it is a source for parts and watches. TC does not have a stock of watches. When you order from TC he builds it. If the parts are not there he has to wait for them from his sources. I'm done defending him. His reputation, if researched will show that he is slow. That is it. He has pushed this hobby, at least for the 16610 and a few others to a new limit that has China running to catch up. He offers the best parts that people mod their watches they get from other companies. Lots of people buy all the parts and have the watch built. OP, how long did TC take to make the watch for you? You will get your watch. LOL. The S word. He is far from that.

I agree with the service failure. If he was Toro or Puretime, no one would deal with it but he isn't. He is one man who works for a living. I understand the OP's anger. That is why I answered. I never answer people. TC is one person I deal with often. That was why I am explaining. If I didn't know him and ordered a watch and what happen to the OP happen to me I would be angry. The thing is, that before I contact TC for the first time, I looked him up. I researched. I read his Blog way before I ever joined one of these sites. I was still an active detective. I got tired of wearing my gen 16613 and scratching up the gold. So I got a rep. Then upgraded it with TC parts. Took forever to get the parts, but I knew that. Like I said, he pretty much told me to shut up with the questions that I had. He did't respond for days, weeks. I get an email with a tracking number. Then the tracking number would show that the label was printed. For weeks it would show that. Then weeks later I would get the parts. Yea I could complain. But why? I was never and incident that I did not receive the stuff I ordered.

Should TC send him an email to give him an update? Absolutely. Would I if I was TC? Yes. Why is he answering me about my stuff? I don't know. What I do know is what the OP asked in the start of the post.

OP. Good luck and I look forward to seeing Pic's of your watch when you get it.

OP, how long did TC take to make the watch for you?

The entire watch took right at 9 weeks from payment to delivery. He's now had the watch after I returned it to fix the bezel issue for longer than it took to make the watch which is one month longer than his latest estimate that I'd have the watch returned to me by. He also went from regular, timely communication to zero communication. Surely anyone can see how that would raise some concern.

I'll continue to try to contact him via email.

FWIW, I messaged him twice last week asking for an update. No response from TC. Will keep this post updated until there is some sort of resolution.

Finally got a reply for TC. He mentioned how busy he was and apologized for the delayed response. He offered to fix the bezel as it was and return the watch immediately, or he said he had a prototype bezel fix that would be an even better solution to the Chinese bezels he uses now and offered to add that to the watch at the expense of another few week's wait, which I felt was a stand-up move. I took him up on that, so here's to hoping the watch comes back even better than before.

Hey guys, just wanted to update this thread. It was July 13 when I finally heard back from TC. Yesterday, August 15, the watch was finally delivered. He did fix the bezel issue (and included another bezel and insert, which was nice).

With that said, I'm pretty put off by the whole situation and will be selling this rep at a considerable loss just to get out from under it as to not have the reminder of all the frustration tied to this situation for me. This rep was a piece I originally purchased in hopes of evaluating the Submariner longer term and actually living with the watch on my wrist for a few weeks/months rather than just viewing it for a few minutes in a shop somewhere, to ultimately decide whether I wanted to purchase the gen or not. That was back in February. Since then I've purchased a few gen Omegas and a Nomos, and am about to pull the trigger on another Omega, a Tudor or a Rolex, so hanging on to a rep that has negative feelings associated with it doesn't make much sense to me at this point when I may be purchasing a 114060 or 116610.

While the communication and customer service are lacking with TC (being a hobby and not a business for him, it's understandable, but doesn't make it any less frustrating for me), I do have to give kudos to TC on his quality. He does do good work. A few photos for those interested.

Beautiful watch brother. Sorry about the whole bad memories. TC needs to have better Customer Service. That is big in this business. I just PM'ed you about a few things that happen to me. The out come is always the same. A great watch. I don't hold bad feelings or at least I try not to. So I would just enjoy the watch.

I had an issue with Phong this week. I got my 16610 that I built that was all gen but the case. I put on my band and the top fit perfectly. The bottom, the band would rotate inside the lugs. So the holes for the lugs where the bracelet attaches were off. I scratched up my case and broke my gen band. I contacted phong. Next day'ed it to him with USPS and he had it and replaced it with a new case in less than 24 hours of having it. He sent me the tracking number for the new case with all my parts reinstalled and made sure a band that I sent would fit. That is customer service. Although that is all he does for a living but still.

Bottom line TC is a great watch maker. His products are second to none. Beautiful watch. Wear it in good health and just keep it and wear it. Good watches that you are looking at. I love them both. I like having the date option. That way I will alway have the date with out having to pull out my cell.

Yet another Noob member who hasn't learn to wait. He clearly states on his page how long it could take. Your loss and someone else's gain.

question - why hasn't TC responded to my emails ?

anwser - because your not up and he is tired of telling people not yet..

The pics are top quality and the TC is just fantastic. I´m in the EU, the Omega AD gave me an estimate of 6 to 7 months turnaround time for a standard service, could be longer (it´s not done locally) and it even doesn´t need anything. This way I´ll only fix it once it breaks or starts loosing time. Note: by sending it in in February it would be back after the Summer is over in October, most probably before X-Mas but You never know (the distance to Switzerland by plane is indeed about 3 hours:).

Some of you guys would have had conniptions in the old WM9 days. Back then It took up to a couple of years between payment and delivery if you wanted one of George's masterworks.
