Anyone had problems with the BP CrPO having tube / crown stripping?

I know that tube /crown stripping was a big problem for the UPO a while back, but a search of the Omega section has not lead me to find this has been an issue with the BP CrPO. Has anyone experienced this???

Perhaps it's shitty luck, or that my over zealousness has caused it. Basically, my movement (claimed ETA and has ETA 2836-2 engravings) has had a small problem whenever my arm is at rest in a certain position. If my arm is moving, even just walking about, it's not a problem, but if my arm was still, whilst reading, driving, or even writing (I handwrite 10 page statements virtually everyday) and the watch is in either a 12 or 9 down type position, the movement would sometimes (not always) come to a halt after five to ten minutes, always with the seconds hand at the 45 / 9 position.

A very gentle shake of the wrist would kickstart it again, but as this may have gone un-noticed for half an hour, I'd need to re-set the time. The movement issue isn't power related, as when I reset the time, I'd make sure to give it a good 10-15 turns to manually wind it, and it could stop again within five mins. There are times when it doesn't happen at all for several days. I figured it's just some dust or something stuck in the movement, especially with it always stopping at 45/9 and planned to get it serviced sometime soon.

My problem now though, is that with the constant undoing and resetting the crown to adjust the time, I think I've buggered the thread on the crown and/or tube. I've only had the fecker for two months and it's probably had maybe 25 days wrist time in that. Have any of you suffered the same problem on a BP CrPO? If so, is it likely to be just the crown that will need replacing, or the tube as well? I know that the UPO would take a gen tube and therefore crown with no problem (stem was also needed), will the BP CrPO also take a gen tube, if I am going to need to replace the tube that is....

My best solution for you? Just pony up and buy the noob. Then sell your BP (fully disclosing its movement and crown issues of course) to offset your purchase.

You'd be better off going this route versus buying parts and having a watchmaker fix it.

My noob screws down ultra smooth and requires quite a number of solid turns. Much like my seiko sumo in this regard. Can't imagine it ever stripping but I still back the crown threads into the stem before screwing down.

Thanks Cap. but my biggest issue with that is that it's a Skyfall model and Noob don't do one of those. Plus, gen parts for the UPO only came to about $40 so I'd happily want to give it a try. If it's not likely to need a tube, I'll see if the vending TD could get me a new crown from BP

I don't think anyone had this issue yet. I think it's your watch only. You can search for gen crown and exchange it by yourself.

Do you think it will just be the crown as that will be a very simple fix? If it's likely to need a tube as well, then it's a lot more tricky
