hey people, im relatively new to this forum but im overwhelmed with the amount of knowledge and help on here.

anyway, this weekend i went in search of a gen Tag Heuer for my father as a belated retirement-come xmas gift. i decided to wear my favourite rep, the Omega ultimate planet ocean. often described as one of the few 'super reps' it really is an excellent example.

so i walked into my preferred AD and selected a couple of Tag carrera's.
as i sat with the dealer to examine them he asked if id like to try them on. i agreed and removed the omega from my wrist. "nice Omega" the dealer said, "mind if i take a look?"

what was i supposed to say? no?!

sure i said nervously, convinced i would be sprung any minute. after what seemed like forever..."beautiful!" exclaimed the dealer. "after 25 years of working here i must say this is my favorite omega, i must invest in one at some point"

i couldn't believe it! here was this so called expert with 25 years experience examining my replica as close as you can get and it fooled him!

i guess this really is an example of just how good todays replica watches are, needless to say i was very happy, and this encounter has further fueled my passion for reps!

i just wondered if anyone else had had any similar experiences? id lov e to hear your stories!

What did you think he was going to say?
He was not going to say look it's a fake! and piss you off so you don't buy his tag.
If he did see that it was not real he would have told all the staff in the shop after.

Bad idea... Reeeaaaaly bad idea...
Never, ever wear your rep into a AD store!
Especially not when you know that you are going to take it of your wrist in front of the salesperson. :nah:

Another one....

I have never worn a rep into an AD. Don't plan on it either.

Yepp... You do.
What were you thinking wearing your rep into the AD, knowing that you were going to try on watches and then expose your rep??

Guys, it's not like the OP robbed the AD while wearing a Canal St Submariner. Lighten up a little. Enough of the dog pile on the noob routine.

Matt, wearing a rep into an AD brings unwanted attention to our little hobby. Better to enjoy them outside of a retail store. If you want to go in and try something on, slip it into your pocket. Admittedly there is a bit of a thrill and curiosity, "will they know" type thing, but it's not worth the risk in the end. Chalk it up to lesson learned.

Welcome to the forum, btw!
