Anyone build their own watch from the aliexpress kits?

Many thanks - here comes the next wave of the hobby for me.

Any suggestions on a baseline set of tools to get started using one of these sets specifically?

I am much too much of a novice to advise on that. I went with cheap tools, and subsequently replaced a good portion with better ones. I'd be veering out of my lane to suggest what would be a good starting set. I'm sure there are more qualified folks here.

Did you have to put the little parts of the movements together too or are they pre assembled?

All you have to do is assemble the watch , the movement comes ready to install lots of instructional videos on building watches just a hobby for me .

Do most Kits come from sellers that sell the most random stuff? I imagine the stores are closed down regularly, as thus the names are often more random like this one:
