They would not remove the Breitling Markings but the serial numbers only. This is called grey market and is common.

Yes, it is common and is one of the ways (perhaps the BEST way) to get thousands off from the price of a gen. It does, however void your Breitling warranty. For some folks that matters, to others it does not. Since I go into the AD with my gens, I chose not to do this.
