I see.. So you are expecting this site to sell dials like for like with gens? I personally had only just bought a fantasy dial from them.

For example I know their platona dials is wrong, I actually had asked them if they can correct it, they said they purposely made some incurracies to ensure people don't sell it off as gen.

Firstly, I expect them to sell me high quality dial rep dial. Based on my assessment , the dial is not even considered good quality as claimed in the website . So this is my verdict . I don’t think it will pass off as a arf quality dial .

And come on, I don’t think you should accept that bs that as a rep maker, the business purposely makes some parts less genuine so that the items do not pass off as genuine. That’s an amazing spin on how one markets sub standard products if u ask me.

Anyway , the point is that the quality is bad. My advice is to avoid at all cost . I feel cheated . It’s not about the money, it’s about not delivering what the website claims .

There is a reason why td model works despite having a lot of WeChat sellers who offer rep watches at a cheaper price. That’s because in this community, we just expect the quality as marketed, nothing less nothing more

I'm not accepting their reason, I just didn't buy that dial.

Totally understand your frustrations, but is the dial you received significantly different to what we see on their website? Also have you contacted them? Maybe you can return it?

Your replies above definitely helped all of us. Personally I wouldn't buy gen like dials from them, but more of a resource for fantasy/custom dials.

I guess if you own or handle the gens, nothing will be "good enough", I guess that's why some of us have frankens with gen dials.

Actually I dun Franken my watch. It is just that I sold my 116519 to buy 116518 a few years back and I am missing it so I decided to buy a rep to satisfy my heart.

As you know , noob or arf does not have this panda dial , so I have no choice but to buy it from a third party to Franken an existing noob 4130 .

I decided to buy from this site coz it claims that it produces refined dial. I actually wanted to get from my source from China, but given that the site costs 2.5 times more approximately and that it uses the word “refined” , I got the impression it must be better than what I can get from my China buddy.

Anyway long story short, the dial is not worth the money for the quality. By the way, I bought the bezel as well. U didn’t see me complaining about the bezel , coz The quality is fine and the price is reasonable .

I don’t think it’s reasonable to ask for refund since it’s not broken. It’s just the quality. So I am giving my honest review .

I see no harm to ask if you can return it. You don't like the finish why keep something which is 300 and you don't like it? I paid via PayPal so if I'm not happy I can raise a case.

You can also easily buy an ARF dial from any TDs, trusty has a side business just for parts. I'm not sure how readily available now with the raids. There is also a CF version floating around.

Just two projects I have completed base watched were all Noob 4130.

First one is the Paul Newman dial I got from WatchesParts.com with displayed case back and hand painted rotor with "Daytona" painted in white.

Second is a dial I drew myself using Adobe Illustrator.

I have used Humbrol enamel model paint, matt white and black.

Both DLC by etaelysium (via repgeek) and some movement work done by ado213 which I'm always grateful for his work.

Hope you like them.

Where can you find this type of bezel? Been looking for it for a while.
eBay has it for $450. I’m sure my dealer can get it for my cheaper lol but he’s a non TD

I will kick off with a project I am trying to do (I posted it on RG already)

Mine at the moment is the Albino Artisan De Genève and now Ember Concept.

For a start, I'm not going to turn the watch into manual wind like Artisan De Genève. But I would very much like to replicate their aesthetic.
So far I think everything is doable except maybe the pushers.

1) shave off the crown guard and thin out the case a bit, vintage Daytona case are not as rounded or chubby as the modern Daytona
2) brush finish the top of the case (side is polished).
3) brush finish the center links on the bracelet - not sure if you can do the clasp as there's a Rolex coronet on it
4) I can source the bezel and plexi (plexi might need to be custom made)*
5) this might be a bit tricky, but the only dial I can find which aren't painted is via ebay, but their subdials don't have rings, so I will get dad to get it make if for me in Vietnam
6) trim/thin out the 3 subdial hands and paint the chrono hands (4 of them) in blue? The main hour and minute hands needs to be source as they are vintage style with flat ends.
7)the pushers, as you can see, they are the vintage MK1 style where they are more flushed looking, I am not sure you can modify the existing pushers as it seems like they are shaven/flatten on the top of each groove.*
8) replace the crown with a smaller vintage crown

Anything else I have left out?

That's gorgeous bro. Curious about the one unique subdial hand. Is it modeled after a gen - asking because I might have been inclined to use the unique hand for running seconds.

Thank you, they are all supposed to be different. Tie at 3 o’clock, a straight stick at 6 o’clock, and a pointed stick at 9 o’clock.

Gen link for reference
