So, we have the VB thread and your avatar to thank for that, too. It was something that had slipped through the cracks for too long. It is now stickied at the top of the "Flame Free" forum, IIRC, and will be stickied in other sub-fora. It's still relatively vague, but it is impossible to lay out/define every possible scenario. It *is* a living document and open for review/revision, however.

I believe there is nowhere on the forum right now, even the Bin, where porn and the like are permitted. This covers images as well as text.

I butchered this in quoting... But Im glad I could be of assistance in getting things cleared up.

As to part two, well... In a quick 5 minute search of the Looney Bin, there are several pictures which even I personally find offensive (especially that last one) But the majority of the mods may not agree with me as some of these were actually posted by current and past members of the mod/admin team.

NOTE: I would consider none of these pornographic, would you?
NOTE 2: a Pm has been sent to R2 with additional pictures for his consideration.

For example:

It seems pics of hairy men are acceptable, but smoothly shaved ladies are not??? Check PCSams avatar... ICK!!!

Im doing just peachy mate... Hope you and yours are doing incredibly well!

And with that... On to questions for Topic #2:

Are the rules/policies concerning non-registered dealers selling watches for profit strictly enforced or are they enforced on a case by case basis.

For instance, lets say I ordered 10 watches from China from someone whom Ive been dealing with for years and I get a really good deal on them. I mean a really really good deal, like lets say nearly 50% off the web advertised price. But when they arrive Im not that thrilled with them (or MAYBE it was my intention to sell them all along). They may/ may not have been worn around my house... so they may or may not be brand new (but I assure I would take all of the plastic wrap off of them to get clear pictures)
Can I then turn around and sell them for the web advertised price + shipping? Although, the buyer is not paying MORE THAN the web advertised price, I may/may not actually be making a profit of nearly double the amount I paid.

Here are the rules as posted in the FOR SALE section... And I do recognize the fact that it states "However, members are not expected to sell multiple new watches WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM STAFF" so what is the process by which a non-dealer member might get such permission?

2) No dealers may sell in the Member Replica Sales section. If you wish to be a dealer on this forum you must contact someone on the Admin team. This includes anyone who just happens to have multiples of the exact same watch lying around his/her house.

The purpose of the Member Replica Sales section is to give members an opportunity to buy and sell watches which otherwise not be getting wrist time. It is not for the resale of new watches, nor is it intended to be for members to sell for profit.

This does not mean that a member cannot sell a new watch. We all have purchased a watch that we thought we would like but turns out to be unsuitable in some way. However, members are not expected to sell multiple new watches WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM STAFF. We do not want back door dealers here. It is not permitted on any other web forum (replica and non replica) and it will not be permitted here.

You know when I browse the RWI or other forums for that matter. I have to be very cautious not only at work but also at home because both these places have their own set of decency regulations. While at work I do not want the Internet control clown to block RWI and while at home I do not want my 5 and 9 years old to look at my screen and say WTH Dad. Some of you are really very young to understand that there are families who do not believe in indecent exposure via any medium. Above pictures are indeed crossed the line of decency. Having said that I believe there should be a special option for members to select and be able to see signatures and avatar. By default, either you are logged or not, forum should not exhibit the above two. What I am suggesting here is totally opposite to how many forum controls showing of signatures by default unless selected not to show.

I, personally, am not a fan of any of those pics, CBR. While none of them are *really* what I would consider pornographic, some of them are definitely pushing the boundaries.

You said you found them in the Bin, so I can only assume that the more offensive ones were posted at a time when racier stuff was a go for the Bin only? I honestly don't know. However, if someone sent me a notice stating they were offended by some of those pics, I'd have a hard time arguing against that position and would likely suggest the removal of them.

Sam, you *can* turn off sigs and avatars. I have done it a while ago and continue to have it set that way today.

I guess I don't understand what you're after, then? The opposite of that would be to have sigs and avatars visible - which they are by default. I'm lost, help me out...

I think he is asking that signatures and avatars are "off" by default.

And with that said, is the REPOSTING of already posted and accepted material against the rules? Or just the posting of NEW material? Or does old material BECOME new material when it is re-posted thus making it against the rules?

I can think of no instance where I would vote to allow a member to sell 10 new watches on the Members FS forum, no. To my knowledge this has never been allowed to happen in the time I've been on staff.

Let's make this really simple - if it is reported by any member as offensive, it will be evaluated by the staff and then acted upon after a decision has been made - regardless of when the pic was originally posted or what the rules were at the original posting time.

Ok, so no to selling 10 watches... but a lessor amount may be acceptable, BUT it would require a vote of some sort. And can I get clarification as to if even selling ONE watch in the manner I mentioned is against the rules, or is it acceptable? How long have you been on staff Hooligan?

Roger that... So old becomes new and thus open to evaluation by the staff. So any one member can report text or an image and then said text or image will be evaluated by the staff?

ONE watch is acceptable per the posted rules. Like the example given, we don't want members who bought a watch, thinking "this looks cool" and then been underwhelmed when they actually got it, to be punished and not allowed to sell it. Now, we *do* look for patterns, so a member who seems to buy several watches every month and then not love them and flip them would be warned/no saled/what have you.

How long have you been on staff Hooligan?

Honestly, I don't remember. Just searched - looks like Nov 10th 2007 was my first day as a Mod.

That is correct.

how does any of this help me get a PAM312?

what about my question?

Its difficult to define who/what an alcoholic actually is. It is another one of those relative terms that mean different things to different people.
For instance, I can sit and drink a bottle of red wine each and every evening of the week and have absolutely no effect on my life or work. SOME would say I am an alcoholic... I say I am someone who admires fine wine.
I have also found that those people and/or animals that consume alcohol can be heavily intoxicated while still not being an alcoholic. If you question the level of his BAC, then I suggest trying one of those "at home" breathalyzers. They are available at most auto-parts stores now and retail for around $50.
In any event, consider your dog damn lucky... cuz' even if he is three sheets to the wind, he has 4 legs to stand on compared to our two!

For the record this is the exact message I sent to CBR about the pic below. ( the exact pic is very similar and CBR shared this with me.)

On to business. Your avatar, you really are one of 2 guys that really push the limits on this and I have to say this one and t-shirt/butt's are the most controversial. I guess if I ask you to change it I have to ask PCsam to cover his man arse. (I never understood why a guy would put a man butt up for himself.) Anyway, if you could change it I would appreciate it.

So technically speaking CBR removed the pic on his own out of respect for ole R2. ;)
