Ok I know mech500 did a comparison (and his is still going to be 100x better than mine will ever be lol).
The reason I’m doing this is to let members see that the color of the dial and the date font of the v3 blue are close. Mech’s gen blue is the latest j or k series and mine is the older i series. Like he mentioned, the blue color differs subtly. I will say that the JF v3 blue emulates the H or I series gen color very well. In fact I will go out on a limb to say that I actually prefer the rep dial color. It is glossier but the shade of blue is very close to my eyes.
Gen on left. V3 on right.
The date font looks good to me too. Slight variance but in real life it’s not a tell unless you have them side by side and you really study them I feel.
Lastly I do concur with mech500 that unless you are particular about the way your watch profile looks off the wrist, thinning it is unnecessary if you’re concerned about how it sits on the wrist. Yes you do get a slightly thinner profile but it’s not a visual tell when watch is worn.
Here are the profiles of both watches. The JF is below and it has been thinned to 9.9mm
In summary I think that JF has done a stellar job. If you like the blue and is on the fence, get it. Don’t compare it to mech’s gen as his is the updated 2018 series and the dial color is slightly different (and nicer )
