Worst possible news. I am waiting on qc photos. I think I will tell them to forget it and instead buy the noob 364.

The watch is fine. Just wouldn't bother with the rep leather strap

Fell in love with the watch as soon as it was released, later with the rep, so I´m biased. It´s one of my goto watches and it fits every occasion from dressy to the café and the beach or dinner out. Fits the occasions where a Rolex or AP would not be "adequate", this fits in everywhere.
Just weighs 94 grams on the bomberjacket leather and that strapped for time one is recommended on the gen-forums for those who bought it with the SS bracelet. Others go with Brady sailcloath, also matches this watch perfectly. To have a decent "gen-like" strap there is gunny and others who replicate them in quality. The Blackbay - compared to gen - in my opinion has much less tells than the Noob V4 - compared to gen. Still, it would have been nice to have a decent deployant....but no reason not to get the watch.

My rep strap is on it's way right now and I see people say it's crap and like cardboard.. Well I got the genuine strap today in the mail also and I'm not impressed for a 200$ strap I would expect a bit higher quality and feeling the leather edges was quite itchy and the vintage "look" is printed in the leather and when you bend the strap this plastic locking print on the leather start to form waves and it looks crap in my opinion.
Also I have to sand the lugs even smoother because the case almost cut through the stitching on one side after an hour on the watch.

i will do a gen vs. rep compare when my rep arrive.

Yep. As I said. Gen strap is ALSO crap. Not worth the money. Go with an aftermarket nice solid high quality strap instead!

Im not a big fan of NATO straps but I have used my watch on the genuine fabric strap for the last day and I muss say I love it. It was very pricey 149€ but its a lot better than the gen leather strap that cost the same (without deployment buckle)

still waiting for my rep leather so I can make a review.

Were you able to walk in to the AD and get the gem fabric or did you have to wait for them to make an order?

I made an order and they got both the leather and fabric strap in 3 days. They say it go that fast when the main Rolex/Tudor center have it in stock.

Can any owner of the strap with clasp please measure the length of both strap parts and post it here? So I can place an order at my strap maker for a custom made strap. Thanks a lot!

Not a big difference I think. But the gen is overpriced. I will order a bomber strap from Peter Gunny. With copper colored stitch - this is a must for BB! I will contact him and ask wether he can work with real copper thread. This a an extreme luxury and trendy way of stitching straps. IWC is offering two straps for the Portuguese, both in finest Gator leather. One stitched with 18k gold thread and the other stiched with platinum thread! Fantastic! But you don't wanna know the price. :-( If interested look for the Couso Platinum or IWA48566.

If anyone buys the rep strap and doesn't like it, shoot me a PM. I might be interested in giving one a try.

For now, I've been using the Bomber Jacket strap that I re-stitched with a more accurate thread. I really like it so far:

Hmmm, the rep strap is really really bad.

Not even close to gen at all, color and overall feel are garbage if you ask me.

Really sad they could not do a better job with the strap and buckle.

No problem, many strap makers can solve the problem. Peter Gunny e.g. has a wonderful bomber leather strap with copper stitching for the BB! It's only important to buy the set with rep strap to get the clasp.

Your re-stitched strap looks miles better than the rep one!
