Alternative to photobucket

Looks like I have a year and 5 months to find a new place for my photos. After 12/31/18 or 31/12/18 3rd party hosting will be discontinued for everyone who doesn't have a plus 500 account which costs $399.99 per year!!!!!! Are they insane? I have a plus 20 account for which I pay a small amount per year so I'm good till 12/31/18 but for others it appears they got screwed



What users are affected by the changes to our 3rd Party Hosting
policies?

Moving forward, new and legacy free account users will NOT have third party
hosting available.

If you were a Plus Account subscriber in good standing as of June 1, 2017,
you will continue to have all the privileges you have enjoyed including 3rd
Party Hosting until December 31, 2018 as long as you maintain your
subscription.

Non Plus 500 Account subscribers that purchased after June 1, 2017 will not
have access to 3rd Party Hosting.

Any suggestions for a new image hosting site. Looks like Imgur is the hot tip but I would welcome input on all alternatives.

I use Imgur of course the more pictures I have the more space I have to pay for.
But I never had any problems posting third party pics?
I would check it out?

The "Upload a File" (just to the right of "Post Reply") seems to work. Just uploaded that ^

I have also been using Imgur...seems to be OK.

I prefer to upload to site directly. Easier and no concerns. Also wouldn't put money into a site that ties my name to a bunch of rep pics personally.

Yup, Photobucket is trying as hard as they can to run their business into the ground.

I second the recommendation of imgur. I've been using it for years and never had a problem.

Direct upload to RWI also works very well.

Sucks for people who have a ton of images hosted on PB. Not sure that there is a really easy way to pull them all off of there and re-host elsewhere...

I have 9.7 gigs but of course they are all on my computer as well. I'm sure people on this forum have much more!!!

it was disabled for many years , when we went to Xenforo , it was enabled again , the only problems with it i see is ppl are uploading full size images with out resizing them first , and the hosters do , and makes the pages load real slow

Yup, resizing is a great idea for all pictures hosted on RWI. For windows, Find the picture file that you want to post. Right click on it. Select Open with Paint. Click Resize. Then Pixels. Then depending if the image is vertical or horizontal, make the larger number around 1100 or so. Seems to be a good size. I know it's kind of a pain in the ass, but it does help.... Cheers.

Can the forum software auto-resize directly uploaded pictures? That would help if someone attempts to upload a large file.
