LOL @sub4me sent me the same link and asked about parmesan cheese in bulk.......and salad tongs

Well that explains the message I got from him ranting about buying Italian dressing in bulk. Like I'm a fckin Sam's Club or something.

So I sold him the dressing.

Ok, serious question so I'll give a serious answer. ...
So there you go, that's my cuntribution to this thread. Which will be summarily ignored.
Actually, thanks for that! Most of it was useful and relevant.

Finally a useful (very) post after all the crap and name calling over the last many, many pages.
I will look into Lucy as of now. Never heard of her before (probably my fault, but I have my own trusted dealer for watches), and from your introduction, she sounds great.
However I doubt that she can substitute all of Ali. I am often looking for outright bargains and I'm not looking for hand bags.

This thread has been very useful in providing hints to the bargains on AE. Hopefully these will return following the last spat of negative input.

Here is my hint as of today:
Received a MontBlanc Jules Verne following recommendations many pages ago. It is very nice and heavy. Fantastic value for money compared to the Gen, but has one fault: The clip is very tight, so you cannot hang it in your inside pocket.
Hope this is useful information to somebody.
Ok, serious question so I'll give a serious answer. Not that it matters because I've already said this 37 times and nobody listens but here goes: Truetime168/Lucy. She sells bags and belts and wallets and whatever. Just shoot her an email, tell her what you want and be sure to include a picture of the item or the link from the gen site of the item. She'll get back to you with a price and, just like with the watches, once you pay she'll go to the market or factory and get the best quality available.

As far as contributing to this thread, here's some tips that nobody's gonna like either:

Bags, especially the reps of the LV coated canvas bags, are going to have a smell to them. Depending on how recently the bag was made it's either going to have a strong smell or a not so strong smell. Everybody goes crazy over that, right up until they spend some time on the gen bag forums reading people going crazy over the smell of their gen bags they paid 10 times more for. The smell will go away after a while.

Belts - One thing most people go crazy over is the branding stamp on the Herpes belts. Some belts might have a light strike on them - don't sweat it. So long as it's on there and is correct - that's all that matters. Why? Because can't nobody see that part of the belt when you wear it because it goes underneath the other end of the belt. Buckles - if your buckle is stamped 14k on the bottom of the bridge between the two legs of the H - who cares. The only person that could possibly see that is either a truck stop hooker or if you get caught in an elevator with a midget. Same goes for LV buckles - if it's stamped 24k or whatever on the back of the buckle - who cares. Nobody's going to see it unless you walk around with it hanging around your neck. ***Make sure you actually measure your waist before you order a belt. Do NOT just go by the size of your favorite pair of shorts or pants. Measure your waist to get the exact size, otherwise you might wind up with a belt that's too small.

Serial numbers - I don't know how many times I've been asked about this. Nobody gives a shit about the serial numbers except for people who are spending too much time researching fake this or that online to see what the "tells" are. Seriously - if you buy a wallet and the serial/date code is stamped inside it, nobody on this planet is going to see it. If you're giving it as a gift - the person receiving it is not going to know what the F the code means. And yes, I've had guys admit that they're giving something as a gift and are worried their girlfriend or wife will find out it's a fake. Here's a tip - wrap it up all nice, slap a bow on it, and give it to your chick. Once she opens it and goes crazy over how awesome it is, tell her it's a rep and that you can get her all the rep crap she wants for a fraction of the price of the gens. She'll love it and act like you just discovered fire.

LV brand ink strikes - Everybody goes nuts if an LV brand ink strike isn't perfect. Well, go to Saks Off Fifth and take a look at the gens and you'll see a lot of those have light strikes or even missing a small piece of a letter. I've done just that and was shocked. But honestly, they're striking that ink on a very textured surface so sometimes they're not perfect.

Clothes - How many posts are there in here where somebody ordered say a Large and it fit like a girl's extra small? That's why I didn't sell clothes. Well, I did sell some clothes as special orders but the sizing can be all over the place and if you order a large and I get you a large and it doesn't fit, well you're gonna be pissed so I stopped selling clothes. Honestly, you can buy gen Ralph Lauren anything when it's on sale at the local mall, so I don't see the point in buying rep clothes that you're rolling the dice on size wise. But that's up to you. My local Ralph Lauren Polo Factory Outlet has embrodiered logo Ts for under 15 bucks each - doesn't make much sense to spend 10 or 12 or whatever on a rep and hope it fits.

Lastly, too many people expect 1:1 reps when it comes to bags and wallets and belts and stuff like that. Look, you're paying a fraction of the price of a gen - it ain't gonna be 1:1. The high end stuff is gonna be good enough that some of it you literally can't tell the difference unless you sit in the store floor with a magnifying glass for a half hour comparing the rep and the gen. And honestly - who cares? There ain't nobody on this planet gonna walk up to anybody and say "Ha! That's a fake Keepall! I can see the stitching on that strap is slightly wonky right there!!" It don't happen. And if it does- punch that person in the head. Twice.

And even more lastly, I don't care if you guys buy everything all the way down to your groceries off Ali. But everybody keeps asking for the link to the best this or that then rolls the dice because this seller has disappeared and that seller suddenly stops responding. Just save your time and send Lucy an email and tell her what you want. And I know some genius is gonna accuse me of being a shill for Lucy - guess what? I'm a friggin customer of Lucy's! I've bought more watches from her than I can even remember and her service is second to none.

So there you go, that's my cuntribution to this thread. Which will be summarily ignored.

Im sure the reason they all want these "1:1" items is for profiteering or telling their buddies thry are genuine.

look at ebay, craigslist and gumtree these days it's full of the stuff

its one thing trying to make a few bucks is fine, but there are scammers everywhere selling the things as legit.

right, the same could be said for everyone buying the best-1:1-made-from-original-sub. Your comment and accusation is offensive not just to those in this thread, but the entire site.

not worth reporting though as apparently the Trolls ARE the mods (in a couple of cases).

You're welcome. When it comes to rep accessories I have literally just about seen it all. Including LV bondage cuffs. And that's no joke - go up to the search bar at the top of the page and type in bondage cuff. Some of you newer guys probably haven't seen it.

Noone should ignore such good tips. Those who don't believe you will learn from their mistakes once the average product comes in.

However, I am one of those who search for RL polos, and I will explain to you why I would still buy that specific product on AE despite the risk of getting a polo with wrong logo or wrong size/fit:

I used to be a big fan of RL, but this brand has gone from a trendy brand to a luxury brand in Europe. I assume you live in the states, but trust me in countries such as France or Italy, sales are very rare, discounts are not as big and you would never get a nice RL polo for 15 bucks.

RL products prices have been increasing constantly. I used to be a good customer and now when I go into one of their stores, I feel miserable. Not that I can't afford their products anymore, but damn the new collection polos are sold 140€ wtf!!!

Once I was in London and I went to the RL shop near picadilly, I found a nice casual jacket, something that looks more like a polo jeans jacket, it was 800 ******* pounds!!! There was nothing special about it, design was good but it was mostly synthetic shit.

Besides, overall quality has decreased over the years. Collars get soft easily, colors go away...I am done buying gen RL.

I think the company is doing poorly.

Oh God how do I hate that. And all these young people wearing black socks pulled up to the middle of their calves, like those old men used to do down in Miami in the 60s and 70s. Yeah, that's what I want to look like - an old white dude sitting on a bench in South Beach waiting to die.

Jesus Christo! I should open my section back up and sell nothing but gen Ralph Lauren stuff. My God, I'd be a friggin millionaire in six months.
