Looks amazing KJ. It’s a shame Rolex design does not match your creativity - that case is longing for some thinner lugs and chamfer…
Indeed, but written in procedure form done so well that others could follow it. I have learned a lot from your posts, the tasteful shots and explanations have helped me choose what tasks to undertake (as a relative newcomer to mods etc) but more importantly what tasks to avoid without the right tools or practise, to prevent damage or messing things up. Having said that a few mistakes have reinforced learning... Anyway thanks for a great thread. Cheers! Thanks so much for all the gracious comments guys. It's really just a dial swap though with a few complications.
I was going to do some case modding. Originally even the CGs were going to get grinded off. But I have so many unfinished projects I have to curb my ambition to keep moving along, hah.Looks amazing KJ. I think a TM case would hit the spot for this build, but I don’t think they’ll accept the GMT movement… I think we’ve discussed this before in PM? The ROF insert is much better than CF against the white dial.I was going to do some case modding. Originally even the CGs were going to get grinded off. I've often wished I could be a Rolex designer. No Palm Fronds or Bubbles for YOU!
ROF lugs actually compare pretty favorably against Noob and CLEAN.
And check out the red insert colors in the same light
The Omega Tai Chi GMT has been on my wish list for a long time but I would have to change the insert to all black. I can't excuse the way they did the color transitions, masking out some of the numbers. I don't like the way Seiko does it either, moving the borders below the whole numbers. But with such a stark constrast as black and white, the Rolex traditional color split on the numbers doesn't work so well either. The 18 can be adjusted a tad but the 6, IDK. Bit of an eyesore maybe.I definitely love the red accent of the GMT hand against the white dial & rest of the black hands!
Was thinking more in line of Omega's GMT with tt insert.
Maybe it would be too much and the platinum within the BLK does work best
But certainly a very fun project, you have an eye of a designer and see what goes together and what is just that but too far.
Yeah I thought about going that route. If only I had another dial, hmmm. Oh no...Albino Batman
Ohhh and if you could get hands on the new sexy grey/black ceramicYeah I thought about going that route. If only I had another dial, hmmm. Oh no...
Really like the Coke too but nobody makes a good Coke ceramic insert yet
They've been available on Ali Express for a while plus EWF and OWF already have them out. The gold numbers would have to be paint modded to silver but I've done that before.Ohhh and if you could get hands on the new sexy grey/black ceramic
