I'm trying to get the dealer to see how thick it isThe RG colour suits this model better I think.
Beautiful manual movement!
Eh. I get it. I mean, it looks passable from a distance and to people who don't know what it looks like. But tbh I'm never really fussed about a watch's backside. I mean, I rarely will ever take off a watch to show people. Especially watch collectors.I never understand why factories will put fake balance jewel deco plates in if they don't align to the base movement balance location - same thing of the ZF Blancpain Barakuda an it stopped me buying the watch.
Have you managed to get a measurement ?I'm trying to get the dealer to see how thick it is
But it doesnt look half bad
Wow, this is neat!My QCs from Sead. It does look thicker than the gen.
I'm not a modder, but looking at the case back, I'm sure we can remove the fake deco plate and shave off some more thickness to the watch.
Regarding this watch, my father wanted it, but then he changed his mind and wanted a pelagos 42 instead (I know, huge difference), so I didn't end up buying it.
He liked the Vacheron and the idea of wearing it, especially to drive around, but since he's been retired, he's a exclusive polo/shorts or loose shirt/jeans kinda guy, I think he just thought the VC would be out of place with his outfits (even though I told him not to give a crap and that old man privilege is wearing whatever the hell he wanted)You nailed it, the gen movement is 2.8 mm according to that Hodinkee article I linked before.
Anyway, the rep movement is pretty nice compared to the Gen which is this
Very very big difference and of course I am not judging...
I for sure am not a Diver guy, but the Pelagos especially is one of the watch I really don't like...
You should have pressured him to buy the Vacheron...
Watches like the VC can be given to sons and grandsons, solid gold, really a jewel.
Indeed looks thicker but still quite well built. Hope the movement is stable. My QCs from Sead. It does look thicker than the gen.

Would you be able to request Sead to measure the thickness and dimension of case ?
IT this one ?For those looking to do a fraken, C24 has a gen dial for sale.
Yes the price is indeed fine. However, there isn't a good base for this dial unless this AIF rep is a worthly one.IT this one ?
