here we go again, i am going to have to sell my old rusted out 1976 ford f150 4wd, granny gear 4 speed, no air conditioning and buy all new clothes so i can wear my gen gmt2c and my wife can wear her platinum yacht master.

do and wear what you want to, thats what i do and could care less that the guy sitting next to me at the red light in his new benz that he can't pay for thinks.

i forgot to mention i wear faded out harley teeshirts, 501 levies and dirty white new balance tennis shoes everyday. i don't give a damn what somebody with a suite, shoes, watch on a cc and a least car thinks. i live my life the way i want to, not how somebody else thinks i should.

I'll defer to the grand Fakemaster on this one: "People will assume your gen is a fake before they presume your fake is a gen...if they care at all."

No matter whether you are 19 or 56 or 92: It's a given for anyone who recognizes your watch as something worthwhile that it's a fake. Of course, unless you're wearing a Prolex, 99% of people won't care/know what's on your wrist. They'll give you kudos all the same for sourcing one that looks halfway decent, real even. They'll even be jealous, despite not being convinced it's a gen. Indeed, they'd rightly think you a much bigger tosser for forking out the cash for a gen (especially as a 19-year-old)! No matter which way you cut it: reps rule period!

As for why you're in this predicament in the first place, maybe you'll find this helpful: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47801&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=4 (I'll take credit for writing it, yes!)

But this isn't just a social decease; it's an addiction. Just give in: you're on the Darkside

I am 26 with a dang good job but people would still assume it's fake if I wore one.

That is why I am going to stick with Breitling/Omega reps from now on. I guess I could afford a gen, I'd just rather not. Plus, with a 6-month old daughter my wife would shoot me for spending $3K+ on a watch,

to wear a Rolex,

you should be 70 years old ( at least ) and always accompanied by your grandparents.

LOL

...why just the other day as I was cruising on my Honda trail 90 heading to the proctologist, I felt so young and alive knowing I had strapped on my Pam 113.

But only for the sport models; for the Datejusts, you need to be 90 yo... and running away from a jealous husband!

How old do you have to be to start wearing a rolex? I'm too young; even if I wore a gen people would still think it was fake. What do you guys think?

Or for that matter, what about wearing two-tone?
fuggitboutit! At your age in a Public Uni....not unless your family is known as moneyed, wearing a Rolex is fakey to everyone!
I suggest a PAM 111 or 009......more subdued/lowkey and not very popular, but classic!

I'm 19 and in college. Most people just wear fossil or casio

man, Im 18 this year and in college and wear Rolex DEEPSEA ! ! ! but most of the days I wear an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 007 Casino Royale edition, the other day this 55 year old guy was drooling over my Omega, and I have been allowed to try on some very exclusive watches at the finest watch dealers, such as a $80,000 GMT Master II with full ruby and saphire bezel, and a $108,000 Jaeger LeCoulture Tourbillon watch. (while I was wearing my Rolex DEEPSEA) its not about age that matters, Its about your style, besides even if I had the money I would'nt spend $11,000 on a DEEPSEA cause its just stainless steel with ceramic !

Alot of people think their status symbols but thats a lot of crap, most people think if you buy a fake Rolex you just want to show off, but thats bs cause most of the times I dont even wear some ! I got about 4 swiss rep watches and the rest jap LOL,
(got 2 Breitling Bentley + 1 navitimer, 3 Omegas, 4 Rolexs, 1 Tag,) and some orig, (Seiko, Fossil, and Tissot)
and all the time I buy them for myself because I like them, to me I treat them as I would as a genuine,

Its not about age, its about the passion for watches, (and it doesnt matter if their reps, cause they look, and do the same as the orig, only you gotta be stupid to spend $7,300 on a Sub cause you can get a pretty good swiss rep collection with that ! )
