As the title says, after taking a 15+ break from rep collecting and modding (click here if you'r curious as to why) I've started up again. It's mostly because of these two reps pictured below...
The pictures don't do justice to the actual watches (unfortunately it's the best I could do with what i've got at the moment).
The submariner on the right was my first ever rep. Believe it or not, It's about 17 years old and still works and looks great. It keeps time as good as when I first got it. It's funny, I've had this for so long, I can't even remember where or from who I purchased it. I've dived in 3 different oceans and countless numbers of trips to Asia and Europe with this watch. So here's living proof on the quality of reps! I've recently changed out the original metal strap with a PVD coated, James Bond/Dr. No NATO strap with the original RAF regiment colors (dark navy blue, olive drab green, and thin maroon stripes) as an homage to Connery and Craig (yes, i'm a die-hard Bond fanatic).
The Project X Daytona rep is one of my most recent acquisitions and mod projects. The DLC coating on the crown is rock-solid, but only certain sections of the original band were DLC treated and those that weren't started to fade. So I replaced it with the SS band from the old submariner. I'm actually really happy with the results and think it looks better than the all black band. More unique anyway
