What’s the floating R? Only just started looking a Cartier and know nothing sorry.

Here is a BVF Santos and look at the floating R..

can someone explain to me the difference between the two BVF versions out , one with the 9015 and one with the 9039. I’ve seen some people say the 35mm 9015s don’t have a ghost date? How is is this possible, is the movement modded?

I see Jtime has 9015s and Geektime has the 9039s. Any preference over which to get? Would prefer no ghost-date, but didn’t know how much of a difference there was between these two miyotas.

I saw some QC photos have updated there dial with no floating R on BVF santos medium. I just ordered too and GL it. Will post it here when my watch arrive
