Saw minute hand broke off on my PAM417.

Wanted to get the PAM experts advice on a recommended option:

1. Take to watch smith to fix
2. Send back to TD
3. Sh*t happens. Buy new PAM417.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Doesn't look broken...just popped off. Easy fix (based on pic)...

if you are comfortable enough working on watches it is a pretty easy fix, just need to take off the caseback, remove crown guard and remove crown/stem, decase movement, reattach hands and reverse. There are couple of videos from a member here on YouTube of how to do it step by step.

Thanks everyone. Will get minute hand reattached. Looking a QC pics more carefully, it looked loose then.

Do it yourself. I've just done this on mine to re-align the hands. You just need quality screwdrivers.

Will give it a try. Bought the tools as part of the Watch Toolkit support package from a sister forum.

Got the hands back on. Have a b*tch of a time getting the movement holder tab back on. Got one side on. Then the 2nd movement tab popped out of the tweezers and landed inside the balance wheel. Can't find it anymore.

Then I think I did a bad thing and unscrewed the two blue screws near the balance wheel, took off the plate and went looking for the movement tab. Now I can't get find the movement tab and I can't line up the plate to get the jewels onto the plate.

Am I hosed?

It really is a bummer. Got minute hand back on within 10 minutes. Spent 30 minutes trying to get the movement tab back on. Then spent 30 min trying to find it.

*sigh* Any tips on what to do to find the movement tab that's lost behind the plates?

Get both of them started before you tighten one down

Think I don't have the gears lined up correctly

well if you tightened that plate with the gears not lined up you probably have damaged the arbors

Will get watch smith to take a look and am prepared to buy another PAM417. Love the watch. Guess I now have a watch to use to spare parts and to play around with.
