Ace240 with 22k Gold rotor VS 3K SC240?

Its a custom built i requested from amowatch. Sw dial, ace movement, custom cnc midcase.

Hi did you only get the mid case CNC or the entire case?

Thanks! I’ve actually looked around quite a bit over the past year, but honestly, there’s nothing out there that really feels like a meaningful upgrade. For me, the real step up, beyond aesthetics, was the movement. And to this day, nothing beats an ACE, especially if you get one with a fresh service right after purchase to ensure everything’s well-lubricated and running perfectly.

My opinion is that the ACE movement is actually the same as PPF but better in terms of quality(finishing, etc…) and of course for the free sprung. The main issue, though, is that ACE has zero spare parts available.. so if something breaks or you get a defective one, you’re basically forced to buy a whole new movement at around $2K with PPF you can get it a new one for a couple bucks.

Funny you say that ...I heard Ace also uses PPF as base! But I am not sure ..However do you think with the plates mods with big jewel mod with gold sleeve etc the PPF comes pretty close to Ace240?

Personally the plate mods bring it close imo- only noticeable difference will be the balance as obviously the PPF isnt free sprung so theres still a regulating arm in place

Indeed if I get it it will be with full glory otherwise why invest in a 5712. In fact as I had mentioned to you earlier I was going for the Ace240 but I only held back after so many negative comments by most modders so then the next best thing is the modded PPF plates. And from what I understand the free sprung is the one causing all the headache? So best option would be to actually have the regulating arm in place?

I won't sway you either way the ACE is cool as fuck. But stability, regulation and options for repair will almost always lean toward the PPF. Put it this way; you could nearly buy like 4 PPF's before meeting the same price as the ACE if something needed repair

Well them the OME comes in the picture as well...but I am not certain about it... some say its 8.5 mm but I cant seem to find any solid evidence of it.
