Just asked our TD AP extraordinaire and says he asked the noob makers and they said they are using sapphire for sure and even they are using the same batch of crystal since last year...
So the question remains... What's with all these scratched crystals..!

Hi, sry I missed this, I can appreciate toro s efforts but clearly I have on of these cheaper testers and he is not holding it proper and you can not press down on the subject as you see I can make would look like a rock hard diamond, you must put your fingers on the back bottom plate in order for this unit to be calibrated and work correctly, although I believe the 57th is sapphire just a low grade on some and not on some is all I'm stating here, toro please do not take offense, I'm not the enemy but I offer ar services and I'm going by what my company is telling me why some crystals in certain watches are not matching others in the same batch, I'm not sure why I didn't get alerted on this matter

Great info. Either way, you can't blame a dealer because they do not build watches or choose materials. They go by the info given from the factory. If you want every Xtal tested, get ready to pay even more.

Exactly I'm not blaming at all the dealers and it the factories note I've come to conclusion some are lower grade than others , simply put, but if you are gonna use a tester read the directions hahaha. just a Lil humor

I think we all know the dealers role in all of this... No one blames them, but as our trusted dealers, I think that they should be alerted of a possible misinformation form the factories front.
If the dealers are responsible they should dig deeper (like Toro, wrong or not, the effort counts), and report back to us even if this means reducing their sales of APs....
This is exactly why they are trusted by us, supposedly because they stand by what they sell...

I have an idea -- stop dropping your watches out of airplanes and it won't matter which crystal it has in it:)

So I just got my AP 4.1

I tried the water test and it didn't hold in place but instead ran off like if it was mineral.
I did the knock test and it seems to sound like sapphire.
I have anohter AP which when you knock on it it sounds like mineral (very high pitched) but when I tried the water test it held. So I'm confused now on which is sapphire or if both are

It puzzles me what these folks do with their watches.

G, I know man!

I know I'm going to jinx myself, but I haven't so much as bumped a watch of mine on a table...Guys, give yourself some room when you go through a door or walk between cars. Jeez!

I own several Roo's ,all mine are saphire,i ared the crystals of all watches, the ar i use is almost colourless ,when applicated on mineral it comes out with a blue hue!
Got an Panda,Chronopassion,Rubberclad,Rubberclad RG,all built this year,en they turned out colourless.
But something is going on at the moment in china!
My friend ,who does the AR ,sended 60 chrytals from different watches ,also Aproos and some diver chrystals to the AR factory,he showed me the result, keep in mind he is using the same vendor (7layer AR)for 6years now,the application on almost every chrystal was different, some colourless, some purple ,some blue, some rainbow, some of the crystals didnt even take the AR evenly!
He will have an appointment with the vendor this week to search for the reasons!
I am very curious about the results

Regards

IS THE CRYSTAL CLOUDY?
IS THE CRYSTAL CLEAR?
That is the question.
