"NEVER WEAR YOUR REPS INTO AN AD!"

Some people just don't listen.

:(

You didn't happen to have your Porsche Keys Hanging out of your pocket, while wearing an Ed Hardy T-Shirt, did you?

It's Christmas! We could be a little nicer.

cjohns- it's never a good thing to wear a replica watch into an AD. I would call it one of the "unwritten rules" of the hobby.

Anyway, live and learn. That's life.

Look, maybe we should be easier on the OP regardless of what day of the year it is. I get that.

But it is nonetheless troubling that a Rolex owner would deliberately walk into an AD wearing a Rolex rep.

I mean, dude. It is inconsiderate and, I don't know, wrong on several levels. Nothing post worthy about it.

But now I suspect that you get it.

Carry on.

Come on guys, he went in to get a gen serviced which means the salesman isn't going to be suspecting anything at all of him and he didn't take it off or show it to anyone, it was just noticed on his wrist from a distance too far to even tell if you were looking for a rep, which again, the salesman would definitely be assuming it is a gen.

Guys, why are you so angry about it? it's his watch, and he can do whatever he wants with it. ( I know it's against this boards policy etc, but he was wearing it on his wrist where no one could see it )

maybe he posted this topic as a lesson to everyone else not to wear the REP to an AD, as it's going to be spotted anyways?

Oh...I know, you are just jealous that he has a GEN!!

ImWatchingYou I'm pretty sure that no one is jealous. Most of the members have at least one Gen.

It's funny to me that it's the members UNDER 90 posts telling the old school members how to act in the forum they've been in for years.

look i don't really have a position (opinion on this topic) here. i would just like to know why it is so bad to wear a rep into an AD? i personally would not. i think it is interesting that a bunch veterans were very strong in their opinion on the negative side(not to wear to an AD). just a question. not an endorsement of the other opinion(to wear reps to an AD). i mean to endorse a ban (the graphic).it is that bad? again i am deferring to those more intelligence and experience than i. please enlighten me. btw i would never do it. it's just who i am. but curiosity killed the slimslim.....

Rolex is the strongest brand in the watch industry. Their investment in that brand is damn significant. They earned the value that they have. The owners of their watches benefit from that brand's value.

They produce COSC movements by a multiple of five over Omega or Breitling, and by ten over the others.

To wear a counterfeit version of their brand into their store is, IMHO, insulting to Rolex.

The OP should appreciate this as an owner. If the value becomes seriously eroded due to the presence of thousands of counterfeits, the value of his (and many others') watches will suffer.

There are plenty of rationalizations for wearing counterfeit watches and other goods in public. Mostly that rep buyers don't have the money to buy a gen anyway, so the manufacturer does not suffer from their practices.

Well, the OP is a gen owner.

Some of you first repliers are the real idiots, retards.... Carefully read OPs message. The AD never actually suspect it to be a rep, he was just saying he had a backup.

And he's actually one of the few around here that has a gen, so I'd say he has a right to wear a rep to an AD.

But bottom line is be nice and stop acting like idiots with those pics and childish insults. :)
