No, not at all.

This seems to be dividing down a line between fantasy builds and accurate builds.

Fantasy vintage builds have lume.

Accurate vintage builds don't.
Well, I have both, as it's not something that concerns me really. Similarly, the beat rate as mentioned above. These anorak-level details aren't important to me. I'm happy with a wide range of levels of "faux authenticity".

I like lume - it looks cool and it's useful (especially on a factory 6542 with its glowing plastic insert numerals so I can continue to not know how to tell the time in multiple time zones at night too). But I also like and very much appreciate an accurate vintage build. So my only real objection to your original rant was its... rantiness.

I have several “vintage” watches…I own a rep 5513 with a gilt dial, a David Wong Tudor 7932 with a gen valjoux 7734, as well as several gens…a Rolex 1675, a Rolex 5512, a Rolex 1680 as well as an Omega SM300…..other than the Rolex 1675, all have great lume…..they have service dials and that is what I love about them. For me, I like white plots that glow! To each their own!
