I've noticed there's a new Mark XX out, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas version:

I think it would make a great summer watch! It was released just in time for V7F or M+F to get to work and take my money by June 😁

Got the blue and black version of mark XVIII. But I would gladly buy this one :D this should be no problem for the factories to replicate, right? :)

It looks simple enough. V7F has botched the grey Patrouille Suisse, so my hopes are that M+F replicates this one as good they did the Patrouille Suisse.

Instant buy for me if made fingers crossed v7f as they use the 2892 rather than the miyota m+f typically uses

That would be my humble wish too. I despise Miyotas with a passion. Can't help it, gotta despise something...for me it's Miyota 😁

Why despise the Miyota?

The 9015 Miyota movement is a workhorse. Never ever had one fail on me and Ive got 2 approaching 10 years and still keeping +2s a day. Miles better timekeeping than any gen Rolex movement.

The Miyota 8215 was a crap movement. But the 9015 is pretty damn good, cheap and very very reliable movement.

I agree with you. M9015 is better than SW-200/SW-300, cheaper, easier to repair.

But people don't like the unidirectional rotor I think. It's the one weakness. But honestly out of all the 9015 I own, only maybe 2 sound like a helicopter. It's QC thing lol

The rotor noise can be reduced but not completely eliminated. But its OK and acceptable. The rotor noise on many gens are also loud.

If you know how to remove the rotor and oil it then it reduces the noise considerably. Some come pretty quiet from the factories if they are oiled and assembled properly but some are indeed loud.

Unidirectional winding shouldn't be an issue imho. It doesnt really matter as long as it can auto wind the spring. I've never actually experienced winding issues with a Miyota 9015 either in over 10 years being on RWI/RG and also probably having 30+ reps with this movement.

Don't know how anyone could hate this movement imho. Its the most stable/reliable movement we have.

Totally agree. I think (don't quote) but the reason it is unidirectional is because it simplifies the automatic winding workers, allowing it to be thinner. That's the best thing about the M9015. You can get sub <11mm thick watches because of it.

All the other NH35, ETA2824, etc, they are at least 11-12mm+ thick, the Miyota is super thin

Maybe it was just bad luck, but every rep that came with a Miyota so far, had a rotor that felt and sounded like a train passing by. Time setting felt flimsy. My watchsmith has dealt with it, so I don't genuinely hate it with a passion, I was half joking. But I'd never choose a Miyota if I had to pick a movement. I'm happy that your experience was better 👍

A rubber strap on a luxury watch it's something I will never understand.

For the asking price they can release a freaking bracelet in the same material of the case.
We talk about reps here so I know my comment is partially relevant...but still I would expect more from IWC.

You mean the same IWC that charges 5k for a 7750 movement? 😂

Well, rest assured almost all luxury watches are overpriced, I can live with a modified 7750, I am not obsessed by in-house movements.
Releasing a luxury watch with a green rubber strap...well, that's beyond me.
I am sure if they do it, they have customers ready to buy these products but it still amazes me :D

I don't mind it. I'm not on an island as there's many successful and sought after examples out there. Each to their own I guess. I prefer skins and rubber to metal. I like the contrast but less in your face look.

Miyota 9015 is a decent movement, works well and is very cheap. It is not very accurate but it is still a good choice for the Mark XX. I prefer it to an Asia 2892.

Seems like M+ is on it:
Nice news ;)
I have three different Mark XXs sold by M+F and V7F. My favorite is the Patrouille Suisse by M+F. In my opinion Mark XX + Miyota 9015 is the perfect match (the rotor is silenced with the right oil).

True 👍 But I still prefer the A2892 if I have a choice.
