QC pics are to satisfy YOU that the watch is OK to YOUR standards, that there are no crooked indices, missing lume, offset chrono hands etc. QC pics are not for picking tells or things that are present in every example of a model such as spelling errors, happy feet, wrong lume colour etc. These things you should be aware of already either by reading or by posting a thread before you order and asking about the issues with whatever model you wish to buy.

QC pics should only be posted if you have some doubt and need to ask a question such as "Hey guys, the lume on the 6 looks a bit wonkey to me, should I let it go or ask for another watch?" or "Is the SEL gap on this excessive or is that normal on this model?" or even "I was told this is a V3.5 but I'm not sure, is it?" That sort of thing, not a general "can anyone see anything wrong?"

This is the norm across all the boards. The reason is to prevent self claimed "experts" chiming in with shit like "Don't accept this, the date is .0001 of a mm off centre!" or "this version is shit, you should have got the V 27.32". The first is answerable by remembering it's a rep and the second is outside the scope of QC pics. This sort of bullshit results in watches being rejected for no good reason and the dealers get stuck with a watch they cannot return as there is nothing wrong with it. The noob who asked also then ends up with an unrealistic expectation of what he can expect. That helps no one.

You should all be grateful you have QC pics at all, it was only 4 or so years ago they did not exist. Try to think of anything else you buy on line where you get QC pics? You can't can you? The dealers hate them, it would be very easy for me to have them stopped. One email to all the dealers telling them all to stop would be all it would take and if QC pics begin to have an effect on the livelihood of our dealers (and thus the cost of reps in general) I will do so. The guy who had this bright idea first is no longer even a dealer here.
Interstate perspective. I can agree on hey can anyone see anything wrong, but an administration that feels the need to power play its members is alarming. If you think we want make them send us QC photos regardless I think you’ve underestimated us or I’ve given to much credit to us. If you are the principal of this forum, what motivated you to take such a tyrannical approach to QC process developing with technology and experience? “One letter to stop the photos is all you have to do” . I don’t get your purpose for that bold statement? If you feel my question is legitimate and worthy of your response it would be enlightening. Please refrain from taking down to me or mocking as so many do on here with each other. Sincerely

WOW... All the information that is needed to do research on 80% plus of the watches sold by the TD's can be found here. So if you take the time to do the research and read the 1000's of threads and the many thousands of posts that accompany the threads then posting QC pics isn't essential.

Most if not all new members don't take the time to do any research and order first and ask questions later wanting the more experienced members advice. If they would just take the links that @eBoy and @Feefo gave them to help them start the journey here then the moderators wouldn't need to clean up threads that takes up their valuable time (which is voluntary) enforcing the QC RULE.

If you look at the first 14 words that @trailboss99 has written "QC pics are to satisfy YOU that the watch is OK to YOUR standards" that says it all.

I think the desire of the more senior members is that you actually learn for yourself what you want.
What matters to you, would you prefer a more gen feel but less accurate dial colour.
Does the hand stack matter to you?
Do you want it to look gen or feel gen more?
Do you have one single fucking clue how a gen [whatever] really looks or feels?
And so on.

Go on, dive in, spend a few hundred quid, buy and sell a few watches. Learn something.

I just bought (another, fake, OMG based) Speedmaster, I'm concerned the bracelet links look like the mid link is maybe 0.3mm wider than gen compared to a pic I remember I saw on eBay.
I hope someone who gives his time freely to improve this forum and is not paid in any way can help me as I'd hate for my friends who have no idea nor give zero fucks whether I'm wearing a Daytona, a Speedmaster, a TAG chrono or a Pagani Design to think I'd spent £300 on a watch not £7000.

Thanks 😂

True story….
Dude came into my clinic wearing a Gen Sub.
I asked him if his Sub had engraving on the rehaut: “What’s a rehaut….?”

I'm not part of the admin team so I won't say anything about the intent.

But here's what I see.

But if you just let QC posts slide, pretty much 90% of the new posts that are incoming would be noobs just checking their QC here. Dilutes the forum content. If you let it slide for a year basically half the posts in some of the subsections or threads would just be dudes posting their QC and asking "is this ok?". It defeats the point of the forum. This isn't a QC checker service for noobs.

Additionally, half the time these QC posts are just new members that don't know shit and want someone else to do the work for them. Why should we? It's free labor and time on our end and very little gain. Most of these new members legitimately will just come and ask some QC questions then disappear without any returning contributions to the forum.

Another thing, that, again, we emphasize, is that everyone tolerates different things in a replica. Maybe I can tolerate something such as a wonky marker - I say "ok green light it" - and then the noob comes back crying that I told him to accept a wonky marker.

I think the larger concern is having some blithering idiot order a watch, get the quality assurance pictures and then post asking everyone's opinion if they picked a good maker, and how close it is to genuine, can they fool their friends etc. Imagine the poor dealer having a bunch of rejections for no reason beyond someone not doing their research and not knowing what they're doing and listening to random people's advice which may or may not be good

I just received my first Belkin today!!! But it has a scratch on the bezel.
Ahhhhhhh!!! And Panerai doesnt actually make this watch: it is a fantasy piece.

Should I send it back to the seller? Better yet, I will go right to the source of this horrible fake fake (double fake!!!): Belkin himself!!!
I am opening a complaint ticket! I am leaving a shit review! I am righteously indignant!

…aaaaand I Could. Not. Be. Happier.

Is it ok to ask the TD for a time graph test and picture? This is my first time buying and I don't wana piss off my TD as I plan on buying many more watches from them.

Yes, many of the TDs already include this in their QC. I don’t see any issue with asking for it.

Of course. Youre the customer. You can ask anything you want of the TD. They might not respond to your expectation but it's a good question. I'd recommend a video not a picture. You need proof of life of the watch you're buying.
