since 07/2022 the watch is at the watchsmith.... and you believe that it's normal one year later to have those issues ?
Yes that is normal, it’s a Chinese replica. When I clicked on this I expected to read a reason not to use Steve. This has actually persuaded me to want to use Steve moving forward, especially offering $50 over a year later. That’s a very good service because I wouldn’t have offered that over a year later.

Ive even owned a gen like that, it happens. Rarely, but happens.
But thats not the point. He went into this with absolutel unrealistic expectations, detached from reality.

there is pretty much zero QC when building these watches in the factory other than what you see on the outside.
if it works for a month, you got your money's worth.

That's why there are all kinds of threads on here advising and selling upgrade parts for models xyz.

meh.

even a $1000 rep is still a replica.

I'm a hobby watchmaker, and I just ordered the first rep I've ever bought from Steve. The watch is in transit still. But BEFORE I bought it I was already thinking about what movement I might use in it in the future.

My plan is to give it a service, and run it. If it craps the bed I'll either repair it or replace the movement. In this particular case it's an asian clone of the ETA 2824, since it was one of the first movements I every worked on when I was getting into the hobby, I'm very familiar with it.

The Chinese can be good watchmakers, but their QC is a bit hit and miss. Perhaps if you provide some more detail about your particular watch and movement someone could offer you a workable solution.

Depending on the watch, movement and factory and that chances are you didn't shell out money for a service? Yeah, it's to be expected.

A breitling avenger hurricane? The GF?

It's a 7750 movement, you can literally buy the full thing for like $80 on AliExpress him giving you $50 a year later shows he's a great TD if anything lol.

Playing in the rep watch space is a game. it is a gamble. There are no guarantees. You are purchasing a product that is illegal in your country from a foreign country where it is also illegal. The fact that TDs give as much guarantee/recourse/rebates/refunds with either shipping mishaps that they have no control over or from a product that requires micrometer precision that is made in a dirty clandestine warehouse that is poured over under a loupe by watch nerds for every little detail looking for a reason to reject said illegal product frankly astounds me . It really shows how much money they are making off of us.

You are placing your money on the craps table with each and every interaction in this game- sometimes you win- sometimes you lose- sometimes you push.

This may not be a hobby that best suits you.
