6497/98 subtype question

This has been vexing me for a bit and i have yet to find a good answer.

I tend to find two subtypes of the 6497 for sale- one with a separate cock for the escape wheel as seen in the photo below:




When looking at he ETA tech sheets- it seems that the separate escape wheel cock version is not like genuine. after ordering at least ten of these (all non-ETA) from various vendors the non ETA type (with the extra cock) seems to consistently be of better finish and quality. They both run at 21600.

My question really is about interchangeability of the parts- as we all know these clone movements of any caliber can have some frustrating variations when trying to swap parts- but I was hoping someone in the group had insight as to the origin/reasoning behind of these two subtypes and any broad guidelines as to parts that in general seem to be interchangable.
