5513 project

Hey,

I would like to introduce my next project: 5513 case set.

Like DJ36 project I made a 3d scan of an original 5513 and drew it carefully. Unfortunately the manufacturer who did the CNC work did not follow my drawing 100%. The case looks pretty good, but I believe it needs a little work.

Here are the technical details:
Compatible Movements: 3130, 3135, 2824 (with incl. spacer ring)
Suitable Dial Size: max. 26 mm
Dial Opening: 25.7 mm
Tube Thread Size: 3.0 x 0.35 mm
Compatible Crystal: Ref. 25-19, 25-127, 25-125

- Holes drilled to 1,3mm
- Lugs little bit thinner and re-brushed
- Athaya crown
- a2824 mov
- Viet dial

It looks very good.

There is room for improvement in bezels, inserts, etc., but I think this is a great way to build a new 5513.

Waiting for the DJ case to arrive, but would love to use it for my next project!

Tudor case back will not fit - 2824 is smaller movement as 3130 and the thread of Tudor case back is 1mm smaller

For Athaya tube have the same thread, but you need make a little countersunk for the gasket

Looks great - would be interested in a fixed bar version to build a 5517-type watch, so the lug hole sizes are no issue for me but what size were they that you needed to drill them out to 1.3mm?

Is the crystal a good fit to the neck?

Does it come with a crown and tube? If so, is the tube 7030 type or 7020 or other?

I'm looking to upgrade my Helenarou case and this is a definite improvement from your pics - great work!

what size were they that you needed to drill them out to 1.3mm?

Lugholes are only 1mm - typically 5513 have 1.2 or 1.3mm holes

Yes

Is the crystal a good fit to the neck?

Yes the crystal is very tight sitting. Neck diameter is 28,2 - crystal have typically 28,15.

Does it come with a crown and tube? If so, is the tube 7030 type or 7020 or other?

Tube and crown are no name random parts not compatible with Rolex, mounted just as a placeholder. The thread size is similar to all aftermarket crowns, like athaya as example.
