Hey Legends,
Just received some QC photos of the MKS (2nd best factory) 4500V in gold/white face. This is my dream watch that i have been eyeing for a long time.
Unfortunately, ZF/PPF (Best factory) does not produce it in this particular colorway... My understanding is that the ZF/PPF factory version is better (the only gold watch they do is with the blue face)... Im trying to seek some understanding to what differences are, and if this MKS version has any tell tales of being a rep? Are there any misalignment issues? The date wheel?

Don't expect your $500 chinese toy to be the same as a $50000 watch. Already the weight and movement is wrong.

It's a good attempt at a replica. But the honest truth is that people won't look at the watch - they'll look at YOU to determine if it's fake or real. If you roll out of a Ferrari or Lambo wearing it noone will question you. If you wear a $50k watch while driving a $10k Camry - most people will think it's fake.

Absolutely agree with you... Its obvious the weight and movement will be different... but that's not the issue we're trying to discuss here.

I just want to understand the difference between the ZF/PPF and the MKS or 8F versions... What makes one the better factory and what makes them the 2nd and 3rd best.

My thought process is to understand the difference in quality of the ZF/MKS factory as I would rather spend a bit more money for a better rep which i could wear everyday and if that means settling for a better quality SS from ZF/PPF... then so be it... but I cant make that decision until i understand the differences!

Ok. I honestly prefer the MKS. Because it's cheaper. And MKS uses a straight Miyota 9015, easier to replace. And from my eyes they're basically the same.

ZF is "better" but is known to have many issues such as a bad/weak clasp, the Miyoya 9015 used in it is a modified version which could be difficult to replace if it goes wrong.

Neither are bad choices.

Go with a stainless rep mate. While these are all fake watches, plated gold reps are the fakiest of fakes imo. Dirty feeling on the wrist. Not an expert on VC reps but like any other replica the differences between factories are going be finishing, attention to smaller details in the dial, curvature/shape of the case profiles, etc...

If you have to ask then it probably won't bother you.

Furthermore, if you must have this plated version, no one is ever going to notice your watch. maybe 1 in 100 people have heard of vacheron constantin? Probably a lot less honestly.

Twenty bucks says that someone says "nice nixon" to you before anyone ever says "Nice VC".
