I could make it with a rubberized red painted edge, not red suede edge, that would be too much of a hassle.

could you offer something like this for a 42mm AP , either rubber /leather:?
If by something like this you mean double red stitch and red edges then yes, i can offer that in both saffiano or alcantara, or a plain black leather

hi just thinking of what to order and wanted to clarify do your 42mm straps come with any plastic or metal inserts ?
also what size buckles fit these straps, 18mm or 24mm?

All of my AP straps come with inserts to ensure the best fit, and you could have seen by yourself in my works section that the fit is really top notch, without the inserts you cannot get that oem-ish fit.
I can make any option, 18 or 24 as you have seen.

After using many deployants in the past years, i find the tang buckles more comfy, so i'd recommend you to stay with the original buckle.
If you really want to go the deployant way then i'd recommend something in 20-22 mm size, but it is hard for me to recommend you something. Maybe someone could chime in with a nice one.
Yes, I definitely prefer a deployant, I even changed the tang buckle of my gen RG watch to an aftermarket RG colored one. Much more comfortable as far as I am concerned, plus it's more safe and less abrasive to the strap, so any and all recommendations would be nice.
