You leave your watch at home because it might get scuffed?

It keeps it nicer and I own three 42mm planet oceans so the one with the most flaws is my 'daily driver'. Still a very good looking watch.

There are actually 42mm gen ETA PO's being sold right now which look seems like 4th gen to me, nevertheless they look very good. I don't know if they are old stock or the original factory has begun to produce them again due to the obvious huge demand for them. Check out the review on RG where a member bought one from a dealer called Sead. He says they're only available in orange numbers at the moment. I checked King's site out and she is also selling them:

Well it has been said that King is part of the "cartel" so it is either old stock or she just hasn't removed the images like some other sites. Ask for a price, I would bet it'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of $320 if she has it in stock.

Shhh! she might be listening and only needs to charge 180.00. :D

lol i'd probably buy another 4th generation if it was that much money :) I've never seen them for under $230.

320 seems to be the going rate, plus or minus $20, with shipping.

The most important thing to look out for in the 4th gen 42mm versions is the correct fluting on the bezel (much finer) and the date window alignment (should be more to the right, and the position of the HE valve (should be centred over the 51 minute marker, NOT the 10:00 hour marker).

I don't think any versions of the current rep PO's have the Omega feet or the 6,9, 12 serifs correct.

Posted pics on dealer websites are not always what you get.

I've never seen a 42.5mm with correct Omega feet, but I think I heard silix had one with the correct feet at a time. I think that was the 45mm version though. Some members have replaced the omega logo somehow, not sure if they took one off another dial or if they just replaced the entire dial with a genuine one. I have been looking at genuine parts. They are incredibly expensive. The strap alone costs as much as two 4th generation POs.

agreed.

the 6, 9, and 12 numbers on the gen also have serifs on them. I've never seen a rep dial with those. I've read that a member on another forum replaced the Omega symbol on the rep dial with a correct flat footed Omega symbol.

Yes I suppose that could be the case, as can be seen on Andrew's site. Check the picture out below, its the 42mm that Sead is selling over on RG:

What do you guys think? A 4th gen 42mm PO? The member says he bought it for $320. A tad too expensive for me, but still a very nice 42mm PO.

I believe Sead has the best 42mm PO on the market right now, and the only dealer we can trust. There may be other PO's like Seads, but not yet trustworthy.

$320 is the going rate for this PO, considering it has a Swiss ETA verified movement (as per Sead).

most 42mm PO's out there have the wrong bezel, plus the date window is not far enough to the right.

also, the tip on the second hand are often painted too bright orange.

For the orange numbered versions, the orange paint on the numbers is not bright enough.

also, the HE valve on the ones I've seen are centred over the 10:00 marker

Sead's PO seems to have corrected all these issues. There are others, such as the Omega feet and the serifs on the 6,9, and 12, but I haven't seen a rep dial that has corrected this (including Sead's)

Again, this is just my opinion.

Yeah I would say that is a 4th generation PO. Not sure why the orange bezel wouldn't be available though. Maybe it is old stock, I was told that they don't make them any more simply because the watch maker got bored with the project.

The real 4th generation PO comes with nickle plated ETA2824-2. Last if not recent batch comes with Asian copy or gold colour ETA movement.

Anyhow, please refer to He valve position, really recent one is at 10 o clock position which is wrong. It should be slightly higher up like on my picture on first page.

Sead's version looks correct though.

Someone should get Narikaa to bug the watch maker to make the correct bezel and correct He placement. I believe the dial is fine for a replica, I have no problems with it.
