Right i'm back from my hols and am about to order my PO
But still have a few niggles if anyone can help
1. UPO is only available as a 45.5mm
2. V5 is 42mm
3. liquid metal is only 42mm but not as close to Gen as V5
4. Ceramic is only available in black on a 42mm
5. Asian ETA 2824 clone is a good mid range choice
6. 45.5 is only AR on the inside of crystal

I'm swaying towards a 45.5 Orange bezel but don't want it to look silly have re-measured wrist and it's 7.5 inches just behind wrist bone.
otherwise its a 42mm orange numbers black bezel.
ideally I should get one of each but funds are limited at the moment as wife has a list of home improvements she wants doing.
I know at the end of the day its up to me.:frusty: I want to order this week but don't want to make the wrong choice.
I have a couple of 42mm cheap versions with orange bezel's which look OK on the wrist but they are let down by poor crystals and no AR, is the 45.5 really that much bigger? went into town to Goldsmiths to try one on but my local branch doesn't stock Omega only select stores of the chain apparently.

Which looks more like a Gen out of the box?

Go with a 45.5. Its bigger, but in a good way. I feel like 45.5 fits on my wrist nicely, and my wrist is 6.5", at 7.5" the 45.5 will look great.

Simple:

If you're under 30 get a 45.5

If your over 40 get a 42mm.

If you're in between you should be able to afford them both. And if you can't, you better save your money.

Now that's a good rule to go by.

I have a 7.5" wrist and I chose the 45.5mm UPO because I think it looks better--more presence. But 42's not bad. It depends on what you prefer.

Now I know why I prefer my 42! lol! I'm an old fart!

The 45.5 would be my suggestion as well. The orange bezel is growing on me but would pick black with orange numbers. Try to add the rubber strap too. ;)

Am I being a bit thick? What's age got to do with it?

definately 45,5. Especially if you plan on getting it on rubber!

Shout mate, got to agree.

When you get older you'll understand, Grasshopper. :yoda:

Nice to know that at 40 I'm considered too young to understand!

I better trade in my ridiculous 45mm PO for a old man's 42.....

Good choice!

Maybe I'll go for one of these to be on the safe side, you know, before the sight finally goes.

I can order it when I get my posture-matic bed and one of those baths with a door in the side....

That's not a UPO! POrikaa?

Yes mate, from Reg. I was just posting a pic to show the rubber strap that was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Although I may have called it a UPO, I can't quite remember what with my memory failing me now I've hit 40....
