Great write up.
I have a Bulova SS in stainless steel, and I love it ! I got it because I fell in love with the BP Day Date 40mm. The problem was I thought I would get called out on it (as gen is precious metal).......So I settled for the Bulova. Here's some pics......
Mate thats an absolutely beautiful and stunning Bulova you got there. Great condition and it seems you got the rarer model with the acrylic crystal judging from the hands and the clarity.
The other versions have a mineral crystal which isnt as desirable for ovvious reasons.
I actually really miss my Bulova Seville with the acrylic crystal, barely no reflections and no fingerprints. On my 18239 with genuine rolex crystal smudges and fingerprints show more easily because of the black dial and because rolex doesnt like to use anti-ar layers.
Btw on any daydate rep the color difference from steel to whitegold isnt really a big tell at all. When they are high polished it is not very easy to distuingish them from one to another without having a direct comparison.
Especially newer watches as the Daydate 40 are nearly silvery white and you can barely see the difference in real life.
The bigger flaws are the inacurracies of the rep and the overall build quality of them. Especially the fluted bezel, dial and date and daywheel font are a dead giveaway.
So good choice sir
