Whether buying from Riyi or Raffles, ask them for bracelets with the "crown logo" if you want one to match your Rolex. They sell them by special request.

Thats a good point no matter if you want branded or unbranded specify it before making the order, just to be sure.

But in this case unbranded would be preferred because a Bulova with a rolex crown wouldn't be the desirable option :)

And if you dont specify it, atleast with the ebay sellers they will assume unbranded.

Great write up.

I have a Bulova SS in stainless steel, and I love it ! I got it because I fell in love with the BP Day Date 40mm. The problem was I thought I would get called out on it (as gen is precious metal).......So I settled for the Bulova. Here's some pics......

Mate thats an absolutely beautiful and stunning Bulova you got there. Great condition and it seems you got the rarer model with the acrylic crystal judging from the hands and the clarity.

The other versions have a mineral crystal which isnt as desirable for ovvious reasons.

I actually really miss my Bulova Seville with the acrylic crystal, barely no reflections and no fingerprints. On my 18239 with genuine rolex crystal smudges and fingerprints show more easily because of the black dial and because rolex doesnt like to use anti-ar layers.

Btw on any daydate rep the color difference from steel to whitegold isnt really a big tell at all. When they are high polished it is not very easy to distuingish them from one to another without having a direct comparison.

Especially newer watches as the Daydate 40 are nearly silvery white and you can barely see the difference in real life.

The bigger flaws are the inacurracies of the rep and the overall build quality of them. Especially the fluted bezel, dial and date and daywheel font are a dead giveaway.

So good choice sir :)

Thanks for the guideline-writeup info and the crosslink references. Very nice and well done.
My Super Seville with acrylic crystal - got this to check out and to confirm that I still love that 36mm size and well worn watches. Great movement and works nicely.
It did not cure the itch for a well done SS, roman numerals and white dial 16234 with fluted bezel....

Looks amazing! but you are using an aftermarket bracelet from raffles for it?

Get a silver one too! They are getting more expensive each day.. And there is a datejust version of the bulova seville, with patience (and alerts set up) you might get one with a white dial

EDIT: Oh you wrote roman numerals, well you could always franken these since they accept genuine parts as bezel dial or crown (with tube change). But you would have to get the datejust version because datejust dials are smaller than daydate dials (27mm for dj vs 28.5mm for dd)

Thanks a lot Gamba, a very good write-up, quick question, if anyone can help. Does the Orient day date can take up an ETA 2834-2 movement?

I have a Super Seville and the rhodium is wearing off of the bezel. Can it in fact be replaced by a rolex bezel?

Enjoyed your write up very much, especially since I made this impulse buy online last night. It's gorgeous, but only now I am thinking about the damn near perfect dial. I would very much appreciate your opinion on the authenticity. My only clue/concern is the T-Swiss Made-T on the dial, which considering the pips appear brand new, and white, seems odd to me. If it's a redial, it is so nice that I didn't even think about it, until now. Seller doesn't sell watches per se, and even posted a video. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-BULOVA-SUPER-SEVILLE-AUTOMATIC-DAY-amp-DATE-BLACK-DIAL-SS-MEN-039-S-WATCH-/293632012055?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STR K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=voPxiDdv3j8WlWSpEKPK8m KdsM8%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc

I ordered a Bulova branded SS bracelet: https://www.ebay.com/itm/263362638853 I may have got the last one. The seller also offers the 2 tone: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-20...QAAOSwItJaZDZw
