I like gm best!
Except for the overpowering brown tones, GM is really the best choice for 36 Wimbledon at the moment, EW is actually not bad, after all, cheap, once VSF and Clean fix the marking problem, then the choice is clear

I’m looking and picking one of these up here soon and starting my first Franken build. I’m thinking VSF for the movement because the ultimate plan is to put a gen dial in it. I know they are expensive but definitely considering. What are your guys thoughts? I don’t have vast knowledge when it comes to frankens and what’s necessary for these builds.
All input would be appreciated!

Cheers

One of the trusted dealers can mod the dial (change the incorrect 9 hour mark). It think after that it really is no need for a gen dial..as you already mentioned the price for a gen dial is sky high.

cleans bezel looks watered down not sharp. Also the romans are not as black and deep like the gen and gm. Also clean sapphire edge is not like gens and gm.
if gm had less brown in the dial under dark lighting it would be a no brainer. But in normal light it looks silver and similar to gen.
Maybe the rich brown tones may make it look more expensive to the untrained eye.

If your plan is a gen dial, go with VSF. But you may as well add gen hands... and of course a gen crystal to showcase the beauty of it all. Franken builds take the reps to another level... but can be a trip down the rabbit hole in terms of money spent. 🐰😉

Yes, that was the plan as well😂. Never been down the rabbit hole as on yet. Been wanting to do it for a while so might as well go full send. Appreciate the feedback.

Is the 9 marker issue only on the 36mm and not the 41mm?

I tried to find VSF 41mm vs CF threads talking about the 9 marker for the Wimbledon but couldn’t find any.

Correct, current issue is only for 36mm. 41mm is fine on both VSF/Clean

Awesome thank you. Is there a VSF vs Clean 41mm wimbledon comparison thread? Couldn’t find one.

If clean as a better dial color with more muted greens would lean for that one.

Saw updated Wimbledon dial for CF dj36 (correct 9h marker). Can @CTime confirm this update, it would be great if this is true!
