Thank you all for your replies. I didn't expect to get this much attention but I knew of the chance that some might take offence to what I wrote. I am not trying to cry or complain I just wanted to give a realistic experience from the perspective of someone that is new to reps. Before I made my first purchase I read over this site quite a bit and it gave me a sense that reps are generally well made and should last a couple years or more. Since that hasn't been my experience I want to share it so others that are like me will have proper expectations.

I do enjoy working on things myself so when I have the time this will be a project. It doesn't seem to be a difficult fix nor do the parts look expensive.

I see, well you could buy this tube to replace the one that got stripped:

I have to tell you, it's extremely rare for a Sub to have a stripped tube, you definitely had bad luck there, I wouldn't give up for one small bump on the road though.

obtaining the parts is the biggest problem. personally i don't know how to change the tube but changing the case is fairly strait forward if you know what you are doing and pay close attention. your dealer should be able to get a case for you at a reasonable price and it will come complete with crystal and bezel insert. you just r&r the movement and you are done.

we get a lot of people that come here just to stir up the membership so sometimes it is easy to be mistaken for one of those guys. don't take offense to any of the posts. these are a bunch of great guys that will do anything for their friends.

hope we didn't scare you away, stick around and you will find that we all have our bad days but as a whole these are the best bunch of guys in the world and a great community.

post some pictures of the problems, maybe we will have some more suggestions. there are some really smart and talented guys here. :D
