So since I caught eye of the 036 I have been doing a little more research into it and saw the T/L SWISS issue. What is the correct lettering? I checked out http://www.panerai.com and although I can not say for sure, it looks like L SWISS L, but if you go to http://www.essential-watches.com (sorry no direct link, flash site) you can see that it says T SWISS T and I am just a little confused. Its a SP EDITION 1998, so i thought it should be L, but I don't know..... Any thoughts? :?

It has both markings as this is the transition period from T to L. It varies. But the lume is tritium.

Wow......I sure hope you can source the part!! Then I can build my "ultimate" GMT. The other rep forum has been trying to drum up interest in a better dial and a more accurate handset. Maybe Davidsen will come through for us. I would definitely contribute!!

I am sorry for the not so good news. The part is unavailable and the watch shop can order in bulk quantity. He is not going to entertain me if it's only 1-2 pieces.

@Navi... Unfortunately the so called ultimate 111h with high canon pin will set you back at least 350-400USD. Furthermore the movement with correct dagger is a hybrid movement Chinise-Swiss with potential problems. If you're looking for a decent PAM rep that won't set you back so much, I would recommend the PAM036 from Ruby. It has Reintitan case with no short pin problems. Thick crown like the genuine too (you don't have to upgrade the crown). Possible mod is of course reluming or dial and hands change (you may get this from Davidsen after he sorts out the lume issue). When you add up... you still have an excellent rep for under 300USD. Do consider this option.

And if you really want one with a sandwich dial, what is the direction then ?

@sk: each is about 10SGD. Didn't really negotiate the price then. I am already surprised by the minimum quantity.

@max: If you want sandwich dial and good, get the Davidsen's PVD any model with sandwich dial or his upgraded 177h. Yes you have to paid double for this one ~400USD (vs ~200USD on cheap and good 036).

Thanks!

That's a little high. I would spring if they were only $2/ea US. I'll keep looking. I'll also check with the various dealers to see if anyone still has any GMT Panerai with the 2893-3. Heck for $400 I could buy a watch with the movement I'm looking for.
