2836 rotor

So I have a Omega PO 42mm with a 2836 movement.
Today when I was setting the time and winding the watch, i could hear the winding mechanism engage the rotor. After that the rotor sound became loud. When I shake the watch it sounds like something is loose. I opened the caseback and tried tightening the middle screw but it was already at the tighest. If I hold the rotor in place with my finger and shake the watch, theres no sound.
Also, if i gently press down on the rotor it seems to depress a bit and make a similar sound.
Is the automatic rotor mechanism on the 2836 suppose to be like that?
Ive heard people take out the automatic winding rotor and just manually wind the watch, would that be better?

It sounds that the rotor bearing is damaged. Are you in EU? I have a few Certina swiss rotors for 2824 and 2836 i can send you one for free. I only need cover for shipping cost.

is the bearing damage a big concern? like will it damage the watch if i dont fix it?
also if i do decide to fix it, is it an easy fix?

Thanks for offering to ship it.
Im located in Canada, not europe :(

A worn rotor bearing makes the rotor wobble up and down when it rotating. this sounds wierd and the rotor often touch the briges when its in the lower position (case back up)

This can leave scratches on bridges and due the friction the rotor dont have power to wind the watch properly (decreased power reserve).

Try ebay to find a rotor its the same for both 2824 and 2836

thanks for the tip.
How can i remove it? do i just have to unscrew the middle screw?
if i unsrew the middle screw will the whole movement and dial come out? or just the rotor will come out?

All you have to do is visually check and see if the rotor is turning freely, if it is then it's not dragging. It should have 5 ball bearings in it and the teeth should be seated properly on the winding bridge. A rotor can be perfectly fine and still make a little noise. It's not rocket science.

It is possible the center beariung came off the rotor. Take the middle screw off , take the whole thing out and see if you can inspect, re-engage the 2 and scrrew is back on. It should spin with movement without contact or significant noise

Is there a chance that the ball bearing will fall off the rotor and into the movement and break it?
