Gents/Ladies -

Maybe a dumb question, but I've been getting into more 2824 builds and they turn out well, but there's one thing.

Maybe it's me, but usually the hour/minute hands don't seem to fit as snug as say a 6497 or NHxx. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this by nature because it's a clone?

It's almost like this with every 2824 I get. I'm in the $50-$70 range, and they keep great time, so I'm not buying the cheapest variant.

Are there any tips (pusher diameter sizes, etc) that the pros here can share to help me be a bit more confident with my next build?

Thank you!

I would say $50 is cheap for a movement.

Try pinching the posts of the hands to reduce the size. Turn them over and gently squeeze the centre post with your tweezers, rotate the hand 90° and repeat. If you did it right you've made the round hole very slightly square which will give a tighter fit.

I honestly think the cannon pinion is moving around and not the hands the more I look at it. Cheap movement? From eBay (shipped from the US but wasn't shipped from the US).
