Yes, it is bothering me a lot.
The Gen GMT hand should always in the same position with the hour hand. I mean for example... If it's 3 o'clock, the gmt hand should point an exact number like 1, or 2, or 3, or 12, or any other O'CLOCK.

But in 24hr gmt like this.... Anytime the GMT hands on the odd hour, it's looked weird. For example the hour hand pointing 3 at 3 o'clock, and the GMT hand pointing at 12.30 (between 12 and one) or 1.30 (between 1 and 2), and so on if you know what I mean. It really scream Fake. And I can't live with that.

Each to their own level of acceptance with regards to what is possible with reps as of this moment. If you can't live with it, then I would suggest to choose another rep.

You could but it's not an easy mod, something only a competent watchmaker or experienced modder should attempt. The fact of the matter is, if we know how to do it, certainly the factories do as well, yet they won't. Maybe there is something else that's stopping them to do it.
Reasonable. I was just giving myself a little hope that I can swap this vsf movement with a new one whenever a factory improved the GMT function. :)

Actually, if no am/pm indicator is present on the dial (some PAMs have it), the 24h GMT is more useful than 12h GMT. It's not gen-like, but I'm starting to like it the way it is.

That actually makes sense as you can tell on a 24hr gmt if its pm or not. In 12hr not indication really, unless you know that if your local time is am or pm, and what the other timezone should be.

Hmmm im with on mysterio with this one. There are a dozen other "tells" on these, and virtually every other good pam rep before you get to the gmt. Anyone who knows to look for the 24hr gmt has already spotted your CG pin. Your incorrectly shaped CG lever. Your incorrect font. Your incorrect crystal AR. You CP. Your too green lume...

Where as most people just think nice watch.

You really think if it was simple to do 12hr gmt the factories wouldnt have done it already? Try building yourself a 7750 movement. I didnt find anything simple about that process.

Its a rep. Theres no shame in that. Just enjoy it because you like nice watches. I wear my gens and reps interchangably.

The 12hr GMT is cleaner although I presume the Panerai DNA statement has something to do with the look being cleaner. The first Panerai did not have any complications, most especially a GMT function.

IMHO without marks on the bezel 24 hour GMT is useless.

Well not really. One lap of the gmt would indicate 24 hrs. So if the gmt hand is at 6, that would indicate 12pm. If it's in between two numbers it will be a bit guesswork, like if it's between 6 and 7 that would be 1pm

The convenience of 12 hour GMT is that (IMHO) quick look at the dial gives you all the information.
You don't have to make any calculations to know the time in the second time zone.

Yea that's one drawback. But you only have to multiply by 2 hehe :)

I would still orefer 12hr gmt as gen, but i guess the 441 just looks too sexy.

That's probably why the 24 hr GMTs have labels, because on 12 hr GMTs you won't need to have another set.

agree, but the good thing of a 12h GMT is that you can always hide the GMT ;)
