I've been lurking for a few years, but according to my readings, @legend says APSF has overall better construction as polish and finish, the movement is most likely sourced from the same factory, but I did see a post where he said the movement on the APSF is good. As far as dial, ZF was better than APSF. That's what I can regurgitate from my readings. Again, correct me if I'm on since I am on the fence of purchasing a 15500.

tbh I am also a bit confused but again I think we are talking small details. ZF 15500 v2/v3 I have read most about as an overall 'better' version. I will of course post all in details when I get the watch

From my very basic understanding, the biggest tell is the dial, so ZF has the best dial. However, all reps dials are distinguishable from from gen to the trained eye. Aside from that, it is my understanding from general consensus and TD (ctime) that the movements are sourced from same factory. The benefit is that APSF has better finishing and movement had legend's stamp of approval. I am going with a APSF v2 base with ZF V3 black dial. Ctime told me it would cost $50 for labor, still waiting for ZF V3 black dial price.

Here is also come information that might help. The general consensus on this list is that ZF is the better factory (doesn't state why, possibly the dial):

So do TD's swap bases and dials if you ask them to do so? Or do you plan on doing it yourself?

ctime has modders that will do it for me, I just asked them and they provide labor cost, still waiting for parts cost. Still, from my readings @legend is the master, he can file down the date wheel and rework the polish as close to gen since he owns 70ish APs.
