1st time buying! IWC and too excited!

Hi all,

New to all of this, thought I would share all progress, steps and times it takes here in case it helps others.

23rd of March (Sunday 2PM UK time)
Sent a message through WhatsApp. Got a response within 5 mins! I sent some more info on the desired watch (IWC PORTUGIESER IW371615). Awaiting response

I am very confident with the process albeit new to this. The information and community on this site and other (Reddit) is absolutely top notch!

It is now 4PM and I just pulled the trigger!

Amazing guidance from Andiot!

Coming from the ZF factory (apparently best for IWC).
Been warned about the long wait time for QC (7-10 days) and advised on all costs.
Have paid through Revolut and provided my details!

Waiting game now - this will be a test of my patience

It is now Sunday the 30th of March so exactly on the 7th day! Received QC pictures!

My Initial Checks

Index alignment:


• Hour markers look aligned and balanced to my eyes, nothing stands out as off.


Dial Printing:

• Text looks sharp, especially the “IWC Schaffhausen” and “Chronograph Automatic”.

• Would love a second pair of eyes on the printing near the 3 o’clock area — could just be lighting or a slight imperfection?


Date Wheel alignment / printing:

• Date sits well-centered, no noticeable leaning.

Hand Alignment:

• Chrono seconds hand resets nicely to 12.

• Sub-dial hands seem properly aligned.

Bezel:
• N/A — no bezel on this model.

Solid End Links (SELs):

• N/A — leather strap


Anything else you notice:

• The sunburst green dial looks great in these pics, but how is the depth compared to gen?

• Case proportions and chrono pusher shape look fine to me, but I’m open to feedback.

• Movement finishing is hard to judge — worth asking for macro shots?

Requested additional pictures in daylight so I can review the dial better. Received a reply within 30 minutes confirming that they will be able to do so tomorrow first thing!
