G only charges $100 to service that movement, might not be a bad idea

30-50 times around I think. It seems as though it feels different when the clutch is engaged from it being fully charged, so I wait for that feeling.

As the above posters said, make sure you wind it about 40-50 times, clockwise as seen from the CG side. You'll feel a lot of resistance once it's fully wound - so much resistance that it's nearly impossible to wind it without thinking you'll bread something.

I can wind my 177L for about 100 times after it received a full service. Since then it runs about 50 hours and loses only a few seconds a week.

I would highly recommend getting it serviced.

Aweee... that sucks... who did you get it from? Anyways... I guess servicing it would be good. I'm glad I got a buddy that does it for like $60-$70 and waterproofs it too.

Got some pics?

Yeah, before servicing, it could wind it only about 70-80 turns and it run only ~ 36 hours.

Yes, and it´s worth every cent i paid. In Germany, watchservicing is really expensie, so i paid 80,- € / ~ 115$, included was movement cleaning, oiling, regulating, crystal fully pressed in, all gasket changed to better ones and additional gaskets for the crown. Waterproof tested to 100m. It runs like a champ and it´s so lightweight, it wears so damn comfortable. I love it. My everyday beater.

G greases the seals and zips it all up nice and tight. I don't know if he tests for water resistance as part of his normal service routine, but it's probably as water tight as it's going to get unless the crystal needs to be re-pressed.

Had the same problem, the movement holders are to short! So when you pull the crown out, the movement slips in the same direction. And the crown will touch the CG before fully pulled out. Only option was finding some new and longer movementholders. Since then everything is fine!
