I will try to drill the crown opening wider to 7mm and 1mm lower, if it works I will make it on all cases.

How wide is your bezel on the 16710?
Gen 16710 bezel is 40.0mm +/- a few hundredths depending on tool accuracy.
Gen 16570 bezel is 39mm so it's important to note that difference.

First, I wouldn't touch the width of the CGs - they are near perfect. If you shave the width at all they will be too skinny. Some of us (myself included) may prefer skinnier CGs but gen is gen. I've always thought the gen 16710 CGs were a tad too thick for the diminutive 6mm crown.

Second, if you shave that straight part of the case back to make it not visible under the existing bezel, the CGs will appear even longer than they already do. As it is yours appear longer than the gen - that is, more of the length is visible.

So the question becomes why is this? Either the bezel is too narrow or the entire CG case protrusion sits too far out. Either way, just operating on the interior of the CGs isn't going to fix the issue.

Untouched case with a wider bezel (or the whole CG case protrusion is reduced) looks like this - perfect.

Bezel was drawn 1:1 according to gen. +/- 40mm.

As I know 16710 and 16610 have same CG's with the different Crown opening 7mm and 8mm..

The CG's length seems be okay, may be 0,3mm too long.. fact is, the crown is not deep enough. On the gen the crown is much more deeper - almost on the same level to CG's..

here is an good comparison to gen:

So the question becomes why is this?

Just easy: I have made the CG's opening not deep enough any the CNC shop made the CG's shape little bit too round and the opening 6,3mm istead 7mm... I have ordered some tools and will try to make bigger and deeper opening on the next weekend. This will fix the biggest problem.

Some guys made it already on their cases. Looks very very close in my opinion.

Sorry to hijack, but hoping I can put my modded 3175 into the case I have coming from you 😁🤞🤞

First let me say that your case is really great and I appreciate your willingness to accept feedback and to attempt improvements. I'm just telling you what I see - I've owned this case for 35 years and a 16570 before that.

It's easy to see in the pic above that the OC CGs are longer. This coupled with the bezel being slightly narrower will combine to make the CGs look longer compared to gen as shown below.

This pic shows the before and after of the crown being recessed in as far as it will go, and the inner CGs shaved the minimum amount they can be to open up the CG inside base. No shaving was done from the CG tips, just the angle was steepened to open up the inside base.

In this pic, we see how the revised CG insde base will make the CGs and crown look compared to gen.

And forgive me for adding another observation but your pic above and one from your thread both show that the chamfers are noticeably wider than the gen - they are much more like 1675 chamfers.

Ofc these observations can be viewed as nit-picking aspects that can be easily overlooked, but that is really what we're all about here isn't it? Achieving as close to perfection as possible? Your case is scary close - I know we'd all love to see it inch even closer 🍻

Thank you mate 🫡

Yeah these points are soo picky haha I think we have made big progress in the 16710 game.. perfection cannot be reached but we have to try it anyway.. version for version..

I think we come closer now.😉

Looks great man! Did you end up shaving the opening near the base of the crown or is the bezel assembly different from the one that was included?

Cgs, lugs and bracelet fitment drove me to gen, you just can’t unsee them. Having never owned a gen before the finishing is sublime.

Reps can definitely be a challenge bro and there is nothing like a gen. It's one reason I like fantasy pieces - they're a blank canvas and you're always right, haha.

What a beautiful piece!
